Paying off my second car was when I realized that:
1) It would be incredibly unlikely I would ever buy a new car again
and
2) It would be even more unlikely I ever financed a car again
It also made me realize how much debt was a pain. So much freedom once the car payment was gone. I lived high on the hog for several months after sacrificing for years.

If you haven't already, please remember to update the Debt Reduction Challenge thread!
And - congratulations on a job well done!If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
