Starting to Make Progress
It's starting. Today we had an unexpected car repair on our only vehicle. We had the money in the EF to cover it! Hubby put it on a card, but we will transfer money to pay the card right away (takes a day). I'm excited. I once posted that we were current with our bills which we were, BUT we were still using credit!!! I started tracking to find our leaks. Our consumer debt had gone up 8K over two years. Now,we use one card that is paid off monthly. We budget for our irregular and yearly expenditures and transfer a set portion of income to a savings account. Hubby picked up a sessional teaching job which has ended, but helped. I'm planning our food and supplement expenditures better. Our tax refund will pay off our car loan. This year we will not go into more consumer debt and we will pay it down.
