Sound the trumpets- debt free except the house!

We got serious about our 'snowballs' 7/1/10, planned to be debt-free-except the house by 3/12, it was a little iffy as hubby's income can fluctuate greatly as he has a full time job and his own business on top of it....today WE DID IT! Paid off the last $188.xx, debt free except the house!

In the last 15.5 months we paid off, in full: 1 cc, 1 business line of credit, 1 business loan and 1 car payment.

In full, counting our mortgage we've just paid 'as usual', we have paid off $32,570.46!!!!!!

We also have $4k in an EF, $3200 saved for our next vehicle we hope to purchase in 1-2 years, and have added dribs and drabs to our retirement. I am on track to max out my Roth contributions for this fiscal year, should be easy to do now!

So what's next? An all-inclusive vacation to the Domincan Republic planned for 12/12, just today started the savings account for hubby's long-awaited 'project' car (which I could soooo do without, but I know I gotta 'give' on this one). Going to fund that retirement like nobody's business since we're behind, but we'll catch up! Gonna build, build, build that EF so we can move in another 5-7 years....need to have a full EF and downpayment and moving expenses.

A lot to be done, but all working towards what we WILL be doing, instead of paying the piper for what we HAVE done. I got a little teary eyed, pulling out of the bank after making that last payment, then pulled myself together as I had to collect my wee one from preschool. a very surreal feeling- house payment and regular monthly bills aside, our money is OURS again...it's about time!!!! Not a bad place to be a 33 yo!
