Almost out of debt!
My wife and I have been following Dave Ramsey's baby steps since the beginning of last year. We were on track to pay off our debts by the end of this year. Now with a larger than expected tax refund, we are going to be able to pay it off THIS MONTH, as soon as the refund comes in. I have already got the state refund and am waiting for the federal. It is almost exactly enough to pay off my remaining debt and a shortage in my escrow account. This will free up $400 a month in debt payments!! Now I can quickly add to the emergency fund and get on with the rest of the steps!! Just wanted to share this with everyone. If you are thinking of starting a debt reduction plan or are currently in one, don't give up! It works and you will feel great afterwards! I also have 2 kids, one of which was born last year during our following the steps and I make 30K a year. IT CAN BE DONE! You just have to be diligent.
