Yay for everyone!
Keep going, it does get easier. I quit smoking four months ago today!

Just adding a note of support and praise for all of you who are trying to quit that smoking--how's it going?!?

I admire you. I tried the gum and made it 2 weeks and failed. I think I'll try the patch next. I don't smoke alot, so you would think it would be easier to quit. And I only smoke in my car to and from work (1hr 10 min drive). I'll be reading this post faithfully!

The worst time for me is in the car. I'm so used to the hand-to-mouth habit I don't know what to do with myself while I'm driving.
Today is my 3rd week and 1st day smoke-free. It's getting better. I don't think about smoking nearly as often as I did at first. I would have slipped last night at school, but it was too cold to stand outside during the break!

214 Hours and still not a monster
First off lots of cheers to all the rest of you giving this a go
Now for how I'm doing.......notice I'm still keeping track in hours.
The positives:
~I still haven't become the snapping, snarling, boob I expected and I'm guessing I'm pretty much past the point now where that's a danger
~Hubby's still smoking outside .... which means he's smoking less too!
~I don't have to be embarressed for non-smokers to get in my car because of the way it smells (still a faint odor but it's hundreds of times better)
~Already using lots less of the gum
The Negatives:
~I've gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks (I'm suppose to be losing weight)
~I'm still antsy a lot Still fighting that just one battle
~(whisper) Hubby smells yucky when he comes in from smoking....now that I'm not immune to the smell.
How's everyone else doing??????

congarts!!!! u can do it, just have lots of veggies premade ahead or low fat snacks. Carrot sticks and crunch things helped my hubby get through it, and was he nasty at times. lol But having something to nibble on helped, and feeling like the idea of the smoke was still there.
Keep up the good work!!!

Keep it up girl!!!!! Munch carrot sticks! Or crunch ice! That is just one of the things I did to help keep the weight down and to release tension for wanting a sickorette!!!!
Also too wait til its been a LONG while and you will really notice the NASSSTY SMELL of them babies. I was at Food4less and This one woman I could smell all over the store!!! Even though it smells gross I DO STILL crave them but its not as bad of course as when I first quit!!!!
Hey, good for you to keep to it with dh smoking and all!!!! WOW!!!! I could not have done that!
Also keep track of your savings! Another great incentive!
