Default Look what I got for a little over $20

It really pays to work in a grocery store when they are marking down overstock left over from sales. I missed a lot of the goodies, like coffee for $1 a bag, but I didn't like that brand anyway, but I got some, along with specials (bogos and 2'fers).

3 boxes of Cheerios at 3/$5 (store special...my birds love Cheerios too)
1 box of store brand cereal at $1.49
1 box of Life cereal at $1.50 (marked down overstock)
4 containers of Meow Mix cat food (treat for kitty) for $1.09 (discontinued flavors)
Mrs. Smith pie slices (treat for me) $1.50 (sale 2/$3)
Duncan Hines Brownie mix 2/2.49 (bogo)
    5 Smart Ones meals at half price (2 @ $1.49 and 3 @ .99)
Taco Shells $1.99 (marked down from $2.49..I thought these were $1.25, but still a bargain, I guess)
    Coupon savings $.75
tax .07 (we don't have tax on food, that was on the cat food)
    Grand total...$20.29

Well, with the BOGO cereal I bought last week, I'm set for the summer! I may be living on cereal with all the bills I'm having to come up with.

Gotta deal with getting insurance today, so I'm not in a good mood. I'm trying to get it down from over $1700 a year. I hate insurance shopping! I may be forced to pay the quarter's premium just to have insurance while I shop for something cheaper.

I'm definitely changing agents. He didn't notify me in time to shop for a better deal when the rates went up so high.

Great bargains at the grocery store. I hope you can find another bargain when you start your insurance search.

I used to do that when i worked at Sears!

I worked in marketing and we did all the clearance markdowns, sales, etc. All I had to do was look on my little handheld computer, see when it went on sale or clearance, etc. Plus, add my 20% off and I had it made!

I loved it...I got an entire summer wardrobe for my son that year for about 30 dollars!

Looks like the insurance thing will be a bust. Nobody wants to insure a home the age of mine (built 1981), so I'm sort of stuck with what I've got, so the agent says. I don't know if I can trust them, because they are out for themselves. I only have until May 25 to pay them or find something else.

Great job at the grocery store!

Good luck on your insurance hunt... We were with Progressive and switched to AIG a couple years ago... It was LITERALLY HALF the cost!!! And they have wonderful service!

    Great savings!

You might want to check out Liberty Mutual, they do car insurance. Ours is only a little $1200 a year for two people.
