    Smile Thanks, everyone!!!

    When my Hubby's job of 15 years just closed two weeks before Christmas last December, we were shocked! Luckily I was alomost done Christmas shopping. We had an emergency fund and I still had a part time job, but we didn't know how long it would take to find another job.

    Since then, we decided to eliminate all debt in case something like that happens again. It is so hard to make a change in your life when everyone around you still spends money like there's no tomorrow.

    We have a group of friends that think $100 for a pair of shoes is a great deal. I think the dollar store is a great deal. {and I don't spend more than $20 for shoes}

    Even before our job loss, I was always frugal and shopped second hand when I could, and have always used coupons and shopped around for deals. Now, my hubby is finally on board with me. {losing half of your income will do that}

    So, thank you, Frugal Village and Village bloggers for giving me a place to belong. Reading posts and blogs help me to know I'm on the right track and I'm not alone. There are so many great ideas here that I could spend all day reading, which would be bad as I have chores to do!

    Wow what an inspiring story, right now that's how I am since none of us are working but being as frugal as I am it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

    Wonderful story! I agree...I feel "alone in a crowd" when it comes to being frugal and working hard to pay things off. Here is where I come to feel "normal". I started calling these ladies my "Frugal Family" a while ago...and it's true! They are an awesome bunch and keep me motivated to continue working to pay of debt and keep living costs low.

    Great story. It is nice to be able to take time out of the day and visit the village family where there are so many like-minded sisters that can encourage and uplift ya when ya need it. I love it here too

    I ditto all! Even though my husband has been the breadwinner in our family since we had children, I have learned to make a dollar stretch as much as possible.

    His income is a blessing, however, lately I've begun to realize just how much unecessary spending I was doing as well as the world around me. Now, especially after reading Dave Ramsey's book, I sometimes feel I don't fit in with most other couples or mom's at coffee clutch because my mindset is different now.

    Thanks to this new network of people and valuable resources, I can keep my head and finances screwed on tight!
