    Default Almost debt free!!!

Well, with our tax return we have paid off all but 1 credit card!
Now we can send $700 a month to the last card, and maybe more ,so we can pay it off in 4 months.
Then all we will have left is our mortgage, which we hope to pay off in about 7 - 8 years. We have lived here only 1 1/2 years. So will be paying off the mortgage in 8 -9 years instead of 30!!!
Using the envelope system has really got us going on this.
We always thought we never had enough money for the month before starting this, then we realized after about 2 months, that we actually had around $250 extra each month. Had no idea where it was going.
Now, with only the 1 credit card left, there is an extra $700 going to debt.

Good job! Keep up the good work!

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

Great Job! I'm inspired. I've ordered a number of books from the library and am hoping to see how to set up a envolope system soon. Thanks for the post!

That's great news! I use the envelope system too and it's made a huge difference - amazing how much money is actually leftover at the end of the month.
