Ignore Feature
~I hope this doesn't sound incredibly grouchy, but is there any way to add an ignore thread button outside of opening the actual thread to ignore it? For example, the Challenges threads are very active and take up a lot of space in New Posts but I don't participate in many and I don't want to ignore the entire forum. It would be very time consuming going through and ignoring every one I didn't participate in.
And please could you bring back VillageBlogger long enough for me to retrieve my old content from there? Or is it all gone forever?

actaully, I think this is a great suggestion. Again, I'm not complaining, but since SN asked, it's true. There are ALOT of challenges going on, and they are very active.......I would be a-o-k if they didn't take up the whole first page of my screen of new posts.
if not, I'm a big girl, and I can keep scanning over them to find what I want to see.

But to get a thread off of New Posts, one needs only open the thread ONCE to ignore it - then it's ignored - right?
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I have spent so much time ignoring the challenge threads, that I agree with this idea 100%, too.

Hmm I have to think this one through. It's kind of why there's subscriptions but I see the problem. This is why I insist on personal challenges be placed in the blogs...to cut down on this problem. I'll take a look to see if there's a solution to this.

~I'm pretty sure that's not true. The threads I've ignored stay ignored no matter how many new posts are added to the thread.
I chose the Challenge threads as an example because one would have to open at least 25 threads to ignore them. I don't have a cable connection so that would be very time consuming as it loads the entire thread before the thread tools button is usable. And it was just an example. There are other good reasons for having an ignore button outside of the thread, such as content I think would be inappropriate for my children to see or threads/subjects that do not interest me at all.
I'm just wishing for a faster way to get to the content I want to see so I can spend more time contributing.~~Constance

Sorry, posted at the same time.
There are threads about subjects that upset me which I would like to be able to ignore without opening. I just try really hard not to look while I'm doing it.

I don't see anything for this for posts without going into each one. We can remove all the challenges from view new posts though.
Then each person would have to either subscribe to the forum or go into the forums to read them.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I agree with this. When I go to view new posts in the morning and evening it takes FOREVER to see the posts for the day that arnt challenges. I think the challenges are great, but I don't participate in them.
