    Insert Link Button

This is more of just a pet peeve than anything...but I am wondering if the default parameters of the Insert Link button can be tweaked?

The reason why I ask is that when you click it, it automatically puts the http:// I'm not sure how everyone else posts their links, but I always just copy and paste the link I want to insert. And since the http:// defaults, it means I have to take the extra step of deleteing it.

In the scheme of things, it's not a huge deal. Just thought I would point it out.

hmmm... You don't even need the button to insert a link.

Not sure this will be worked on.
If you just post the link address in the post it does this.

~Nichole, a faster way is to highlight/select the prefix in the pop-up with a quick click and mouse drag. So if I right click directly on the blue http, it will paste my link over the http, deleting the extra http.
The pop-up box always shows the http as highlighted for me so there's no extra step when I link. I wonder if it matters what browser or FV format you're in?~

Just paste the http url in the post/thread.
It will automatically add the link tag.

I use a trick of 2 combos one after another:

    ctrl-a (select all)
    ctrl-v (paste)

If you select all before you paste, your pasted ctrl-v link will overwrite the http :// which you just selected with ctrl-a.

You are forgetting ctr+c to copy.

I have the forums to automatically parse http address and title them with the target page. So folks do not even need to use the link button unless they want to give the link a special name.

    example:

Frugal Village | Frugal Living by Sara Noel

You will not be able to test this until you reach the minimum post amount to post links. This is to help automate the elimination of spam on the forums.
