    Talking Yahoooo! Merchandising Job!

I just checked my email and I got a merchandising job right here in my little dinky town. LOL

All I have to do is go into the grocery store, find the hair accessories, inventory a certain brand, bag them up, have the checker scan them, take them home and box them up with a prepaid return postage tag and they will send me $12.00. Should only take about 20 min. to get the things and get outa there.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that it goes well. This is my first merchandising job and I want to do well.

Wow - sounds great !! I live in a small area too so I worry that I won't find anything available for me with the shopper thing too.

I've got my fingers crossed though.

    Thanks Lori and Connie!

Connie, you may already know but some others who read this may not but a merchandiser is different than a mystery shopper.

You have to fill out a form as an independent contractor and you actually go do some type of work in the stores. (like putting up or taking down displays or merchandise).

I know a lady who has been a merchandiser for about 25 years. She works for Hallmark Cards and she has made a living off of this.

Some are one time jobs that pay you right away and others pay you once or twice a month depending on how many times you have to service the store.

I would love to be that Hallmark Card Lady that you see straightening up all the cards! It's good money and you are your own boss. You don't have to accept any job they offer or you can accept them all. You set your own hours. Just depends on how much you want to work.

One lady I know works in a bigger city. She has two merchandising jobs that she services 2 times a month each for a few hours each time and makes $500.00 a month. She loves it.

The mystery shops can pay very well depending on your location. I have a friend on another board who averages $600 to $800.00 a month and one month she made $1000.00. She works really hard at it and I think her hubby is getting tired of eating out all the time but for free food and extra fees how can he complain!
I just wish I lived in bigger city. The one nearest to me is 125 miles round trip and even though some of the shops will pay me $25.00, dh says it's too far to go and it's a dangerous road so I am stuck with minimum but I hope to get them all here!

That is terrific!! Where do you go to sign up for merchandising? Or do they just pick you from the mystery shop sites that you have signed up for?

    patchworkgirl,
    Hi!
A good place to start is www.narms.com
You can do a search for your state and see what is available or submit your resume and they will send it to all the companies listed
