You can take online surveys for money, too. I don't know how well it pays, but it should be easy enough.

Do you have any unusual skills or abilities? You'd be surprised what people will pay for and what they need.

I do merchandising work, and one of the best things about this is that you can do it to your schedule.

Just thought of this: what about dog walking? Or pet sitting? I would much rather let someone take care of my cat at home (where everything is familiar) than take her to the vet's, but I don't know of reliable people. I'd pay about $10-15/day for that. You could easily do several people's pets (rabbits, fish, gerbils, too) and throw in some plant watering. It might not be much money, but it would help.

Well, I will tell you what I do. I do the sunglasses at Target twice a week. I go into the store and put the sunglasses back where they belong(yes, all of them have a spot that they actually belong in), and then I restock with the glasses that come in during the week. I also do other projects within the store. Anything from putting coupon stickers on a product to putting new labels on products, and pulling damaged products off of the shelf. Once a week I work for another company that does magazines. I go into CVS stores and take the old magazines off the racks and put the new ones up. I also work in grocery stores, kmarts, and cvs stores doing the ads and coupon machines that hang off of the shelves. This job is the most time consuming because one week a month is ad change week and that is hectic having to pull the old ads and put the new ones up. There are many merchandising companies out there. If you go to volition.com, they have a messageboard that has a big list of companies and what type of work they specialize in. Also, if you go to narms.com, this has a list of open jobs in all states. All you have to do is put in your state and it will show you what is open. It changes daily so if something is not there right away, keep checking because there is always something new. A quick way to get started is to sign up with Certified Reports. They offer a board where you can pick and choose the jobs you want. They don't pay that great, but they are always hurting for help.
I work for RMS doing the Target stuff, Source Interlink for the magazines, and News America Marketing for the ads. But, there are so many out there. Another way to find out what companies work in the stores you shop, check the vendor log that the stores have at the customer service desk. Every vendor has to sign in. If you have any other questions, feel free to pm me. I will try and help the best I can.
I love my job. It may get hectic sometimes, but I am able to work when I want to, and that part is great. Plus the money is not too bad.

Many fast food places do early morning prep work every day and might be looking for more prep work on a part time basis. Since you said you're working nights now, you might ask the various greasy spoons on your route home if they need any help around your normal quitting time for a few hours.

You could also look into part time retail - like at a convenience store, on your days off.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

If you can get a merchandising job do it! Best move I ever made. I make my own hours for the most part and mine has worked into a sales rep position! I love it!

Someone on here mentioned going on craigslist.com in your city/town and looking under 'gigs' (I think)
In that section is a place where people place want ads for things they need help with.
Or, you can place an ad on craigslist telling others what you can do.

Someone here got paid to clean someone's microwave, to help an elderly pack for a move - stuff like that.

I saw an ad on there for 'single dad needs a woman to stop in every morning after he and his children leave for the day.... and tidy up. 1-2 hours a day' I thought... That would be real cool for someone who didn't live far. And real cool for him! He didn't have to put up with a wife .... he just paid her for a couple hours of work a day! love it!

Ultimately, it depends on what you like to do.
I once worked as a legal nurse consultant from home. Wouldn't recommend it. It was tough- I was distracted with family and it was getting aggravating. Not to mention the real nitty gritty required access to online databases. So, I just went to the local university everyday- did my work there.

I liked that job. I didn't like working from home. wait! gas was cheaper then.

You can also go to www.NARMS.com and submit a data profile and it will send you emails when companies post jobs in your area!

I currently take online surveys and have some commission sales. Although nothing to write home about, they are doing okay. I have applied and need to take the test for chacha to become a guide. Crossing my fingers on that, as it sounds EXTREMELY flexible. This merchandising job sounds very interesting too. Do you apply in the store for something like that?

I do petsitting in my home while folks are on vacation. It's evolved simply by word of mouth. Granted the pay varies month to month, depending on vacations, etc. But it's easy to do and it's not time consuming.
    It is what it is.
