1-$5. has been the price. W/ the economy I think $2. is good if they're fairly current. Depends on your area though.

I think AT LEAST $1. for each is a very fair price. Newer ones a little more.

Last one I had I sold ton of VHS for $1 each or made a deal if they bought multiples. As the day wears on my prices tend to go down do that I don't have to deal with the crap after the sale.

In PA, NJ, and WV I sold VHS for $1 each or 3 for $2. For DVD I did $2 each or 3 for $5. They sell like hot cakes.
CD's are same as VHS
Good luck!

I'd say a lot depends on the condition, your location, and the titles. We had a yard sale in May, and I basically just wanted RID of everything. I sold a bunch of cult classic VHS tapes for 25 cents each. I sold DVDs for 50 cents. I don't remember having any CDs, lol...By the end of the day, there were only a few tapes and DVDs left, so I put an all for 25 cents price on the box...and two dudes nearly got into a fist fight over it, lol.
My friend sold some of his VHS horror films for a buck a piece.
I honestly don't think I could have gotten much more around here. However, in nearby locations, I've seen people shell out top dollar for movies. I've also seen people totally avoid such media, because they can, uh...get it for free, lol.
Personally, I would not pay more than the prices you listed at a yard sale. As a buyer, you don't know if there are defects on the discs...even looking them over won't reveal ALL scratches and skips. I don't want to invest any more than that.
One thing I did read, though, when looking around for yard sale tips, was to price everything slightly higher than what you're really looking to get out of it. You might want to go $2 for DVDs and $1 for CDs and see how that goes...and then if no one is biting, bring the price down.

suggestions for selling everything not nailed down
The month of July has not been a lucky one. Hubby got hit with a pay cut, my central a/c went out , I got three nails in a tire, and I think my fridge is gonna die soon....
Preparing for the potential for a layoff with hubby in future so I am trying to raise some cash.
I am getting ready to "sell everything not nailed down"
I have a lot of nice books- many hardbacks- in almost new condition. Would I be better off selling these in a yard sale, or on the internet? I have bought books before using amazon, and have found many people selling used books of the ones I wanted, often significantly cheaper. has anyone done this?
Also, for the bigger items- misc furniture, and exercise equipment...
would you put these in the yard sale or just craigslist them separately?
