There is tons of ebay info on here somewhere.........has been years and I don't like paypal.............the fees are ridiculous.
I like CL and have had good luck with selling things........have sold things from produce to plants to furniture to misc. Give info-and a pic and in this economy, allow time.

Craigslist seller here! I've had good experiences and have always met in public. I've sold clothes, my travel trailer, a thermal imager, a purse, and rehomed kitties. Always meet in a public setting. There's so many creepers nowadays.

We like Craigslist and occasionally we'll sell something, but I also do a little trading on there. I've traded many of my plants for other peoples plants and just a few days ago, we traded our 5th wheel camper and 4-wheeler for a Harley Davidson Road King. Yep, I like Craigslist.

I've sold some exercise equipment on Craig's list, it worked out fine. I also am starting to sell on EBay again. I sell clothes, shoes and purses. I have pretty good luck with it.

I have sold a few things on ebay...
homeschooling books, paranormal research equipment (highest sellers, lol), some clothes.
I have thought about doing it again, but can't figure out what is worth selling on ebay and what is better off trying to sell off at a yard sale.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I use eBay a little bit, but Craigslist much more.
I deal only in used/old/vintage bicycles and parts.
I mean how often do you see bikes or bike parts at yard sales, Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc? All the time!
There’s kind of a hierarchy I’ve used for years:
- Find bikes/parts at yard sales and Goodwill, sell them on craigslist.
- Find bikes/parts on Craigslist, sell them on eBay.
It has worked so well that I opened up a spot in an antique coop 4 years ago and it’s been doing fantastic.

I used to sell on eBay, some Target clearance items, and I had KitchenAid utensils I sold, as well as dishwasher magnets. All was good until others found my sources too, and everyone would start selling a penny less than the competition until it got to the point none of us were making any money. I did ok, but it wasn't worth the effort after a while, especially since I sold smaller items and the fees went up (that's when I quit). When I was the sole seller of an item, things were very good. The trick is finding something everyone else isn't already selling. Avoid drop ship companies, most are a joke.

I've only sold one item on ebay (a blackberry cell phone with its accessories). It was a mixed experience. I had to sell it twice since the first winning bidder ended up not being able to pay. However, ebay credited my account back their fee for it so I was only out time not any money. I ended up selling it the second time for about $10 more so it worked out. It was a high enough price that the fees didn't really make much difference. I've bought many things off ebay and only ever had minor issues here and there.
My dh has bought and sold off cl and never had a problem.
It depends on what you are selling the higher the price of the item and the more people you want to see it ebay tends to be better i think. Things that don't ship well are good to do local on cl.
I've never regretted using either.

I've been selling on CL for ages now... for things I'd be giving away anyway, it's much faster to use CL's free section. I just post the item and it's usually gone within an hour, no matter what it is. Someone once even took a ratty old rug!
For money, though, you have to be willing to sell at a pretty low price, unless your item is a collectable, antique, or other rarity. I have mainly sold kid stuff and books. I've never had a problem with creeps, but I have had a problem with flakes. It's a lot faster and cheaper than EBay IMO.
