    Question Craigslist-Ebay

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone on here has ever posted on craigslist or ebay. If so what did you sell and did you have any luck. Which website was worth your time as well. Thanks.

I use CL all the time. I sold my Kitchenaid mixer and had over 100 emails on it. Wish I had more to sell of that.

Not I but a friend has sold stuff on ebay that she bought at Salvation Army, and other thrift stores, I am trying to find out how she does it.

    Keep you posted.

I've done Craigslist. It really depends on what I was trying to get rid of. Sometimes it is how I presented it. Sometimes it was the price. Had some really good experiences, some okay ones, and some no sales. So far, no one has tried scamming me from any of them (that usually happens in the rental section for me).

Used to sell on Ebay. Never had a bad experience. Not sure if it's worth it now with the fees for both ebay & paypal - I personally don't want to bother at this point - but I also don't have great ebay style stuff to sell.

I've also sold on CL - nothing negative as of yet - Only catch is because it's local, you have to meet people (where as ebay, you can just mail it)

I would think that ebay has a wider audience for whatever you are selling, but then again, how many people check CL first - and use ebay as an alternate.... hmm....

Either way, I think you'd be good. Personally, I would try CL first and if it didn't sell, then try ebay.

Just sold a trampoline and rabbit cage on CL. Each were up only a day. These are things that would be impossible to ship on Ebay. I did price things low, though, to move them. It was an easy $100 (especially since the cage had been given to me, so that was pure profit) with no shipping fees or paypal fees. It's free and easy, so I give it a thumbs up.

I sell occasionally on eBay. I've been challenging myself to sell 3 things per month. Most of what I sell is beauty products that I win in online sweepstakes. It sure isn't a big money maker (if an item retails for $35, I'll be lucky to get $15 for it), but since all my stuff is free, I figure it's worth it.

Last week I sold $98 worth of stuff for $51 - minus shipping and fees - probably cleared $42.

Unless you are selling a higher dollar item on Ebay its not worth your trouble because of all the fees that they have started adding. Smaller priced items you'll do just as good at a yard sale with.
