Default The economy and home based business?

I am a consultant for a children's book company. I love the books and the company. I used to do fundraisers with schools and made quite a bit from those. However, when the economy crashed so did my sales.
Now I had a school call me last month and wanted to do a fundraiser with me again. I agreed and they seem to be doing well this year. Then another school is now interested in doing the same fundraiser.
I really am hopeful that this other school and I can work something out. However, I am worried because it takes alot of time! If the parents still view the economy as bad they won't earn very much therefore not really making it worth all the time it takes. What do you think you would do? Give it a try and see how they do? or just say Im sorry but with the economy now the profit is not worth the output of time?

charge an upfront fee to cover yourself. If the sale does well trade your fee for a percentage. Everyone wins. the school has incentive to help. Also get a comittee of mom fromthe school formed to divide the labor. Be a consultant!

i dont think i would turn down any income due to time issue right now in that type of work because they will remember who worked with them even when it wasnt alot of money for the time and come back to you when the times get better.

Default I know i too have the same problem sort off....

i work 37.5 hours a week and make $13 an hour however i have to add 10 hours to that because of traveling so its actually 47.5 that i put into my work week....but only get paid for 37.5....however i have started selling things on a site and have been doing pretty well..i have actuallly been able to buy some things off from ebay and list them on a site and make back double...it is really going well...however sometimes things dont sell and well you never know when this will stop...i know that if i put 47.5 hours into it i could make at least what i make now without having to pay $400 for gas....however i dont dare quite do it because the 37.5 hour job is pretty stable and the selling on this site is not...ugh! the site is a local site.....so i understand your frustration....and hope things work out for you...
