Single Check Rebates
Do any of you participate in the Single Check Monthly rebates offered by Walgreen's and Rite Aid and any other store? I try to do the FAR items each month from Walgreen's. I think this is a great way to try new products for free. I used to do Rite Aid rebates regularly as well, but have been having trouble with them lately, so I am not so keen on Rite Aid right now. The thing I love about Walgreen's rebates is that if you request the gift card, you get an extra 10% which is a nice feature. I just wish they had the online submission program like Rite Aid does so I wouldn't have to use a stamp to mail it in. Anyways, just curious if the rest of you guys do these rebates.

You know, I don't do them, but I've been considering it for quite some time. One of the websites that I belong to highlights the single check coupon rebates for you so it's not even hard to do...I just haven't gotten around to it yet. We don't have a Walgreens, so I would have to do RiteAid, but they are still great deals. Hearing stories like yours really makes me consider it even further.

I haven't yet, but I plan on starting with the gift card thing. I figure that way, onece I've got it going, I can shop at Walgreens for "free".

I only use Rite Aid and once in a while Longs Drugs if it's enough money.
Today at Rite Aid there are a lot of freebies. Since we are low on money I'm only going to go get the FAR shaving cream, and the FAR mens shaver. I am using a 1$ coupon on the shaver so I'll be getting paid .33 for buying those two items
There are some other money makers, like the dr. sholls dyna step inserts, loreal feria hair color...and that might be it...but I just don't have the cash to spend on it at the moment...if there are still some left by payday I might pick them up
But, this is why I hang onto all those mail in freebies, so I can combine them with a rite aid free after rebate (or just a cheap deal that I'd still make some money on)

I use Rite Aid all the time. We get the majority of our prescriptions there as well so it is really not any bother. I have been using them for some time now. I have never had a problem receiving my rebates. The only thing I don't like is the rebate is in postcard form and I don't think that is secure coming through the mail.

I do the Walgreens each month. I had taken a break from RiteAid for awhile, but I started back up this month. What problems have you had with them? I have found that if I don't get there on Sunday that the free stuff apears in the Sunday ad then they are sold out. I always check my coupons for these items too.

With Rite Aid, this month I purchased the Fantastik and it didn't credit when I entered my receipt online. I had purchased a few other items that were eligible for rebates and they all went through. So, I emailed them about it twice and never got a response. Finally called and they said they will mail a separate check for it.
But, my big annoyance with Rite Aid came when I moved. I updated my address with them last summer and then did July and August rebates. I have yet to receive either of the checks for these two months. For some reason, they mailed my checks to my old address, which did not forward them. I have called them 4 times over these two checks and am told they have reissued and I should get them in the next few weeks. I just feel like I get the runaround with them. Until I moved, I never had any trouble with Rite Aid rebates. Neither of these checks are for large dollar amounts, but it's just the headache of trying to get them to send them to me. I also want to add that my mom does Rite Aid's rebates each month and has never had a bit of trouble, knock on wood.
Until I receive the two checks, I am only doing rebates with them if it is an item that I would purchase anyway and if I can combine coupons and get a good deal.

I love Walgreens rebates. I do them every month. I also take advantage of Eckerd's rebates. I love getting products for free. Albertson's had a rebate program last month. I took advantage of it too. I really liked it because at checkout it printed a form with all the rebates and total and you just filled in your info. I wish they were all filled out for you.

I always do Rite Aid and never had a problem. But like anything else- some months they have better deals than others- last month, I only got $5.00 back, but the month before, my check was for $29.00.
But like someone already mentioned, if it's an item you can get for free, get there the day the sale starts, because they do not stock up on that particular item. What you see on the shelf is all they have. I've had the cashier tell me the manager will order many cases in advance to get ready for the sales, but 9 times out of 10 distribution never sends them out in time.
And just make sure you watch the sizes- I've slipped up quite a few times because it was only the 2 pack of lightbulbs that were free after the rebates, not the 4 packs. The idiots who put up the sales tags don't necessarily put the tags under the right items.
