Need opinions on my after school childcare ad please...
I am thinking about starting an after school childcare service in my home for 1-2 children. Can you please give me your honest opinion on the ad I've written before I go and put it in the paper? Here goes...
"Seeking after school childcare? I'm a homeschooling mom to a delightful 5 year old girl, and I currently have openings in my home. I can provide a fun, safe, nurturing environment for your child. Reasonable rates. Call 442-0403 for more info."
Is there anything about that you think I should change? Thanks in advance....

I would add something about how you are certified to watch kids in your home also (unless you don't need to be where you live) I'd put it in right before the homeschooling mom part.
I'd also include how many hours you would be willing to watch them for. (like 'availiable from x-x')

I think the ad you wrote is good and I would would leave it that way BUT have all those other items (snacks times etc) ready to tell someone who calls.. Too much in an ad and you might not read the whole thing, just what I think..

I'd run the ad just like you wrote it and be ready to explain what else you have to offer when they call. Don't sale yourself short. Parents will try to take advantage. Have a contract and outline your hours, fees, holidays, and stick to it.
Will you be picking the kids up after school? If so make sure your insurance covers that. I ran a licensed family child care for 5 years and got to see a side of some people I don't ever care to see again.
After school care is so much easier than full time care. I loved doing an after school program but the military's regulations got to be too much for me so I closed my doors in March of 2002. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions. Good luck!!
