Post is anyone an independant sales rep?

Is anyone here an Independent Sales Rep for any company? Avon, Tupperware, Partylites, etc? If so how do you like doing it? What are some of the pitfalls about it that you can say to someone thinking of getting into this line of work? What do you like the best? Any pearls of wisdom? I have a few companies I am thinking about. I am concidering working for a comapny like any of these and wonder what anyone elses experience might be having done this. (You don't need to say what the company name is if you don't want to. I am interested in the position itself, and if you don't want to name the company, that's ok). Do you work for more than one type of company? (lol, not compeditor companies but different companies all together; like make up and tupperwear or something I would guess)

I am a new Independent Sales Consultant for Longaberger. I like it. I am still starting out, so I really don't have much advice. I like the setting own hours part of direct selling.

One drawback for me is many people are put off by the cost of my products. I feel the quality and made in America pride offsets the fact that I have to save a month or two to purchase what I want. So far, so good though.

I am a Southern Living at Home Independent Contractor....I like it pretty good...the money is good...if you can sell anything...right now is a really bad time for this kind of stuff, I think because of cost. Most of the people I know can't afford the price....some ladies I know do really well selling it, but I can't seem to get my feet wet. You do have to invest some money to make money, but they have a great commison plan.

I would definity look into it before signing on the dotted line, ask lots of questions. I think these types of programs are really good, if you can devote the time and energy it takes. My biggest thing is getting people to sign up for parties....I just can't push people..so when they say no...I leave it at that...I don't push for people to buy either.

Hope whatever you decide works out for you!

I'm an Independent Herbalife Distributor and I LOVE it! It took a while to learn the business, and I still have some organizational challenges, but for the most part it's GREAT! Be sure you have someone to provide you with support, product knowledge, you know.. to get you off to a good start.

Ellise, check this website out www.southernliving.com

I love Southern Living magazine but I don't order it any longer. Everything that is in the mag (recipes, tips, ect.) is on the website. Lots of good down home southern recipes there!!!

Southern Living at Home is a home-based sales business of Southern Living....they have Independent Sales Representives and have 2 catalogs a year. They have really great stuff...household items, cooking and food items, and cookbooks. I could do alot better if I was a more pushy person but I'm not. The stuff is nice but kinda high. Here's there actual website:

i am new to this website and i wanted to say HI and that i'm an independant sales rep for avon. i've been doing it since november. i also work outside of the home and that's how i've been getting my sales. i like it but it's not a real big money maker unless u have alot of sales. i have to buy my own books and samples. if u sell there makeup and anew products u get 40% profit and the other products 20%. i do buy my makeup from avon so it's nice getting it at a discount.
