Question Do you think I could do this?

Now DH is back again I need to work.

I am actually financially alot better off in this country as a single parent!!!!

Anyway it has been a VERY long time since I ever had a 'proper' job and I still have a child at home.

I am seriously thinking about getting my own shop!!

How? I haven't got the faintest idea! lol.

But I'm not good at working for other people and being told what to do. I have considered a part-time job in the evenings to suppliment income but really I would like a shop.

My favourite hobby in the whole world (I know this is sad lol) but it's going to auctions, car boot sales etc. I really love it, it gives me a buzz and I've been selling for a long time on ebay.

I'm thinking I could have a second-hand clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac type shop and still have time possibly to do ebay while I'm trying to make it all take off.

However like I say, it's been a long time and this would be completely new ground for me AND I wonder how I'd cope when my depression sets in?

I'm not really sure what if anything I'm asking here, I'm just trying to work things out in my head and put ideas forward to others just incase they come up with something I hadn't thought of like:

We are all LMAO!!! You MUST be joking!

Thanks for keep listening to my nutty thoughts all the time LOL

I think you would do a WONDERFUL job!!! Second hand shops are so popular here and do very well. The owner gets people to bring in items (clothing, household items, furniture, etc.) and you say yes/no and the cut here is 50% owner, 50% customer. But if you go to sales etc...you could get lots of stuff and sell 100%. The first thing that came to mind was that cute chair you painted for your daughter. Awesome job!!! That is maybe something else to consider for your shop!
I'm still thinking but you definitely CAN DO IT!!!!!!

Thank you for the positive thoughts Heather - Something I'm always very short of LOL.

I thought that to - If I had second hand items, when I had the time I could 'alter' some of them? LOL - I also decorate denim jackets and other items and I thought I could do some of these things if the day was quiet.

The problem is - this has always been a dream of mine, but I don't actually have any definate plans and now he's back I need to make money NOW!

Not that my knees are shaking or anything LMAO!

I say GO FOR IT! You'd be great at it.
If you have the means to open a shop, then I say go for it.
You may not be rich right away, but it will help. And it sounds like you would have fun at it too, which is a bonus.
