just wondering
What kind of direct sales parties have you done or been to?
I have done Avon and Stampin'Up!
I have been to Party Lite and Tupperware.
Had lots of fun at all of them. the Party Lites one I won the door prize by guessing the length of time the huge candle burned for. It was more than 100 hours of burn time. I won a votive candle.
What about you?? What have you been to or done? And of the ones you've been to what do you remember about the party?

I've been to Pampered Chef and one for Arbonne (all natural skin care and beauty products that doesn't contain any animal by products, mineral oils).
Pampered Chef is fun, since you get to eat. Arbonne's products are really great, but expensive and the bottles aren't very big for the price you pay.

I've hosted Tupperware and Creative Memories.
Been to Avon & Tastefully Simple too. I had a blast at the Tastefully Simple party - we got to try something like 32 different products, and they were all tasty - very expensive though!

Pampered Chef parties you get to eat at?? I'm there! LOL I have heard of these parties...never occured to me they eat at the parties. I have a few of DH 's coworkers that have some of the products.
I have never heard of the other company.
I have never heard of Tastefully Simple either.
There are so many direct sales companies, I think it is neat to hear about all the different kinds.~~ Missy ~~

I like Home Interiors, I've been doing those for years.
I just went to Tastefully Simple, it was yummy, but very expensive. I got 2 bottles of spices for $20.00
(I told you I fell off the frugal wagon, loL)
I like Pampered chef, too, but haven't been to one for years.

My mother hosted a few Home Interiors parties. She had some pictures and some wall sconces and a matching mirror. Since it was when I was a teen I don't remember the pricing, but she sure liked the stuff she got from them.

I have never hosted any, I live to far out in the boondocks, LOL. I have attended...Tupperware, House of Lloyd, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, Mary Kay, several candle parties and I am sure that there are many more, I just can't remember them all. I mainly remember how push some of the sellers were, not the hostess but the actual dealer. Some try to make everyone feel guilty if they don't buy anything, I usually try to go because in most they get credit for having people there, but I don't purchase any expensive gadgets from anywhere. I love Tupperware but I can get Rubbermaid or even Sterlite for a lot cheaper and it is usually just as durable.

I have been to: Pampered Chef many times (DH's cousin is a rep and PC is a big thing with my friends at work) and Party Lite candles many times. I've also been to Home Interiors and another similar home decor company- I forget the name of that one. I've ordered from Stampin Up and Creative Memories both, but haven't actually attended the home shows on those.
I have hosted roughly a zillion Longaberger parties
and also been to many. I've also hosted an Avon party, and done a catalog show for Pampered Chef.
I'd have to say that Pampered Chef is one of my favorites-- you can go, eat, get free recipes, and still only spend $10 if that's all you want to spend.

I have been to Tupperware and Creative Memories and I have hosted Partylite and a lingerie one I think it was called Cameo. That was so funny because the rep talked my dh into modeling the mens silk boxers(in his thinner days). My best friend hosted a Mary Kay party at her house the morning of my wedding so that we all got free makeovers!

I've been to Tupperware, Mary K, Princess house, Avon, Discovery Toys, Party Lite.
I'd love to go to some of these food types. They sound fun.
I made a killing at my Princess House parties. I worked at the time and got tons of orders and had a couple of large parties.
I had all the cookware and so much of their crystal. It was addicting. lolIf you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online.
