Well I've been painting like crazy.

I posted some pictures here and got several sales. So I need to get those ready and packaged up.

We sold another clock from up north, so we have to get another one made for there.

Dh has been busy making more items.

You know, I read this thread all the time and I always wonder, do I qualify for this thread? Technically, my piano lessons are my little privately run business. If not, I won't post, just read, but if so, it might do me good to be posting about it to be sure that I keep up the energy to not cancel any appointments in a given week.

Amy of course you qualify. Would love to hear about your little home business.

Tell us about your piano lesson business. How many lessons do you usually give in a week? Do you only teach kids or do you have adults? How long have you been teaching piano lessons. Would love to hear about it. I always enjoy reading how others are bringing in extra income.

I'm really glad this is here this week! It stops me living in denial.

I STILL have LOTS of cards already ordered to make and I haven't done any for days - I've been depressed and tired but Birthdays and Christmas don't wait for my mood to improve LOL.

I've been busy painting a room for DS who has moved back in with me - but sadly no one pays me for that!

I need some money QUICKLY - I don't have debt as such but I have NO capital and DS needs a car, Christmas is closer by the minute, I still have Birthdays this year, And I'm going away for a couple of days TWICE before Christmas!!!!!

I NEED to get it together NOW - I think I'll list some on eBay (as this is instant) and I'm seriously thinking of downsizing my own car as well.

I need some energy and I'm having a real problem with procrastination at the moment and I'm not sure why?

Bev, You've been going through a LOT lately. I think it's no wonder that your business has been on the back burner. Don't beat yourself up over it. You'll get it done. You always do!

    Here's my piano/tutoring information:

    Monday:
Tutor a boy (14) who has 2 broken legs - 1 hour - approx. $30/hour (paid through the school district)

    Tuesday:
2 piano lessons for 2 girls (11 & 12) who I pick up at school and bring back to my house. Their lessons are for 1 hour and 1/2 hour, but their parents pay me extra to keep them at my house until they can pick them up on their way home from work. $75.00

    Wednesday:
1/2 hour piano lesson for a girl (11) at her home - $25.00

    Thursday:
1/2 hour piano lesson for a girl (13) at her home - $25.00
1/2 hour piano lesson for a girl (9) at her home - $25.00

    Friday:
    1/2 hour piano lesson each for 2 sisters (11 & 12) at their home - $40.00

    Saturday:
1/2 hour piano lesson for a boy (7) at his home - $25.00

    Sunday:
1/2 hour piano lesson each for a boy (6) and a girl (9) and 1/2 hour tutoring for the girl at their home - $65.00

Right now I only have children, obviously, but I have taught adults in the past. I originally went to college as a music education major, but switched to Social Studies when I realized that music education is usually the first program to be cut in schools and I wanted to have a job! So, since I graduated in 1994, I've been teaching piano after school. Over the summer, I teach piano at an educational day camp, which is where I get most of my students from.

Shucks Bev - I lose the plot all the time - then I find it under some pile somewhere!

Well - I'm just getting started in my own little homebased thingie...I'm becoming an independent consultant for a scrapbooking business (not sure if I'm allowed to post the company name...).....the start up costs are what's getting me - I've gotta fork out $225 up front to get my sales kit & I can't seem to figure out how to get it!! Seems like every time I save up something, it gets spent for something else! I'm sure nobody understnads that, heh??

I'm going to keep checking in here to keep myself inspired! Love ya gals!

Debbie, i certainly understand that. I save for even small things and the money winds up going to something else. I bet you do great with your new business. I am doing along the same line with a Company called "StampinUp!", the scrapbooking products drew me into it. I am an independant sale rep for them, I have only been such for 3-4 mos, but I am getitng better at it all the time. It is my understanding that you can say the name of the company you will be associociated with. :-)

Amy, My gosh! You have a busy week!!! Wow! You go girl!!

Bev, with all you have had going on this past week or so, I can see why things with the cards have had to wait some. You'll get caught up again, I am sure.
