Coupon Sorting
Coupon sorting for grocery stores is something that I used to do a few years ago when we lived in Michigan. I would call the stores in the area and offer my services to them at a very low rate. I had three grocery stores that I picked up at least twice a week and would sort the coupons by manufacture. I made on an average of $40.00 dollars a week from each store.
Doing this for them freed up their other employees and took the headache away. They were more than happy to have someone to do this for them.
I'm going back into doing this again in our new area. I thought it might be something that my friends here would be interested in doing to pick up a few extra dollars a week.

The store usually pays you up front. But there are those stores that pay you after they receive reimbursment from the companys. Some stores also pay extra if you take over sending the coupons to the manufactures as well. There' s bit of bookkeeping involved, but not much.
It's a "Good Thing"

Oh! I've been to Clarkston before! If I remember correctly, it isn't too far from Waterford, right off 75?
We moved here from the Battle Creek area, but I grew up in the Howell - Brighton area. Most of my mothers family still live there.

I miss my family there, but I don't miss Michigan. Things have chaned too much for me to live there anymore. Property prices sky-rocketed so that anyone without the big dollars, couldn't buy a homestead. I had a farm in Athens until I wasn't well enough to take care of it. I sold it because I couldn't afford to hire someone to do the repairs.
Here in Minnesota, the first home we bought up north was $25,000. It had a 4 bedroom home, a large pole barn and 40 acres. Our taxes were only $275 a year.
Here in the woods, we paid less than $90,000.00 for our 3 bedroom with 5 acres. Our taxes here are only $188.00 a year.
No, I don't miss Michigan at all.

I should have said, I miss the way that Michigan used to be. Guess sometimes that's why I love Minnesota so much. It reminds me, in a way, the old Michigan.
There are no "wall-to-wall" house here, people wave at you even while your driving and you have no idea who they are. Guess that's why it's calle "Minnesota Friendly".
I was raised, part of my childhood, on my grandparents farm in Howell. Howell and Brighton were very small towns back then. Everyone knew everyone else, everyone had their morning coffee at the same little restaruants. It was a friendly place.
The last time I visited Brighton, I couldn't reconize it! Big shopping centers everywhere, telephone wires hid the sky, even the old mill pond was differant! I couldn't stand it!

What do you do, just call the stores and offer your services? I never even realized there was such a position.
edit: Sorry, I just reread your post and see you explained how you do it.
