Default Sometimes it can be so frustrating!!!

As you know I've started my own business and it's very difficult to get things going. Well, I'm trying a new approach with marketing and hopefully this will get results.

But today I decided to do another cold call to a company that has had an ad in the paper for sometime for a secretary with "flexible hours". I called the number listed and it's a construction company. I told the guy about my business and he seemed interested. Then he told me about the "unique" situation he needed. He needed a secretary to live at his 4000 square foot home on 5 acres with a hot tub and do his work for him. Something about it creeped me out. I told him I could do his admin work from MY home and do a great job. He said no - he need more profit at his home so any work would be done at his house - with a hot tub! Gross!!!!!!!!!

I guess this is the kind of things I could run across! Just wanted to share my bizarre story.....after I hung up the phone I just kind of sat there with a stupid look on my face and started laughing! Does anyone else find this weird?

I'm thinking he should advertise for a girlfriend and not a secretary!

I think this guy needs more than a hot tub - I'm thinking he might need a cold shower!!!! That is just too weird.

Flexible hours means 24? You shoul have asked if you get to work in the hot tub then you would know what position he really wanted to fill.

Oh Daphne a good sense of humor is a wonderful thing to have in business, it'll help you over the rough spots. A good soak in a hot tub minus the stud would be a good thing too.
Hang in there & hope business picks up for you soon.

    Creepy!

Now my question is... If it was an ad in the paper and he's requesting such a thing and mentioning his hot tub and so on.. maybe you should report the company. It was highly unprofessional of him to mention his hot tub and the house the way he did regardless if he was interested in your services or not.

Matter fact, give me his number and I'll call him myself. Give him alittle scare.

Ewww. It just makes me alittle nervous knowing there are people out there like that.. and the worst part.. He knows women are going to call. Sounds like a scary situation for any woman.

I think after having this ad for a couple of months and he still doesn't have an "employee" he probably isn't going to get one. I have heard of live in employees to help out with taking care of elderly and such but not in the manner he was looking for - or what I assume he is looking for.

I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go around!
