Default Ways to make some extra cash!

When I was on sick leave for a year, things got really tough. My disabiity claim was denied as they said I was not TOTALLY disabled (although with my asthma I couldn't climb more then three stairs at a time!) I started to get creative. I needed some cash to pay the bills. I sold some old clothes to a second hand store, sold some of my books and babysat. What are some ways that you make a few extra dollars to bring some cash in?

I have been selling Avon cosmetics and items on ebay. I'm not out to make millions of dollars but to clean out some of the unwanted items around here. I also use a site I seen here called bargainand haggle.com. I've sold some stuff on there too.

When I first started needing extra cash, I freelanced floral designs. I did mostly craft shows, but did some weddings and interior design too. I miss it and I believe I will get back into this again one day.

I have sold items on ebay many times. I used to buy at garage sales and estate sales and resell at the flea market or on ebay.

Now for extra cash, we focus on Gabe's freelance job. He does translations. (mostly dossiers for adoptive families)

I am thankful that we have skills that permit us to freelance and bring in extra money when times get tight.

My biggest lesson has been living below our means vs above and beyond our means. This has made all the difference in the world for our finances.

Keep those ideas coming. I used to freelance for my former employer, but since 9/11 those jobs have dried up.

I could use some extra cash so am interested in what you all do to get it

In the past I have done everything from write silly romance stories for magazines, it is amazing what they will buy, to fill in for friends who bartend, to baby and pet sit, and take home health aide jobs for short term income boosts.

I have sold stuff on ebay, half.com and amazon.com. When dd was a baby I did bookkeeping for a restaurant. I would go work from 10pm-2am counting money and balancing books. The work was easy, but the hours were obviously crummy. But since dh worked during the day we never had to hire a sitter.

In the past I did some mystery shopping for extra money. I've been away from it for 2 years but I've started registering with places to get back into it. You won't get rich mystery shopping but it is fun and you do get paid.

When ds was born, I cleaned a lady's house for $50. a week. It worked out great, since all ds would do was sleep the whole 2-3 hrs I was there. I did that until he was a year when he no longer had patience being in the playpen, and this lady's belongings weren't exactly kid friendly (very expensive crystal, china and the like). The money was great while it lasted

I make extra money by selling on ebay and at half.com! I also do alot of trading. If I see something the boys want or need. I will trade things I don't use anymore or need anymore for the items. Works out great! I also have had a few garage sales, babysat and made some crafts! I tried to sell Tupperware, but it wasn't my thing...lol!!!
