I'm new with a question
Hi, my name is Tyra and I'm new to this site. I'm on a mission to conquer my debt, I've had enough! I'm looking for ways to supplement my income and I've been starting to do surveys online.
Have you found that the surveys are worth it? Also I've noticed there is a company called Survey Scout that will give you a huge database of survey companies but you have to pay $32 for it. Is that something that any of you have done and if so, was it worth it?
I've also joined mypoints.com but it seems like it's going to take forever to earn points. Any suggestions on that?
I truly appreciate any help you may have.
Thanks!
Tyra

Hi Tyra,
I'm not able to help with your question, but just wanted to say - Welcome to the Village!

Tyra,
Welcome to the Village! I do surveys for various sites but I have never paid anyone to get the surveys. I usually average about $10 a month in earnings and also do points programs to earn gift certificates for other things.

I find the surveys are worth my time, however, my philosophy is, if I have to pay anything, even for a list, it's probsbly a scam. You can find survey sites for free.

I do viewpointforum.com
Once you get 375 points you can request a check for $10. I just started doing it a few months ago and already have 425 points. Look into it and if you want to join I can send you a link then we can both get points for it...lol
Since I am working now, I am going to see how long I can hold off cashing out my points.

Welcome, glad to have you here! I have recieved money from Survey Spot, and Greenfield Research. I think Survey Networks is a waste of time, because it seems more "catch" oriented and annoying. Good luck.

I have been doing online surveys for about two years. In 2003 I made $92.10, and this year I'm at $158. I suspect (and can't prove) that I would probably do better if I had kids (I don't, and a lot of surveys seem to be geared towards moms).
I have never, and would never pay, for a listing. There's plenty of free ones out there.
The programs that I am a member of, in order of my favorites, are:
Best:
MySurvey
Viewpoint Forum
Vividence
Good:
American Consumer Opinion Panel
Survey Spot
ZoomPanel
Harris Interactive
Look-Look
Attitudes Across America
Have had Issues with:
Greenfield
PSB
I would also love to be a member of Pinecone, they pay well and often but I'm not currently a member.
I believe all of these (with the exception of Viewpoint Forum) you can just go to their website and sign up - if you need URL's or want a referral, you can PM me.
Other programs you might want to consider are MyPoints (a rewards program, the only one I currently do) and BzzAgent (and interesting site, you're supposed to create "Bzz" and tell people about new products - they usually send you the product in the mail).
Hope this helps - I find that the extra money always comes in handly around Christmas - but cash out early! It seems that everyone cashes out in late Oct/Nov to try and have it for Christmas and if so, you usually don't see anything until Jan.
Thanks!

Thank you all for taking the time to answer my questions. I'm glad to hear that paying for a list of survey companies is not needed.
I'm off to get more acquainted with this board. I don't know where to go next!
Thanks again,
Tyra
