Where do you get it all???

I often read that items put up for sale on e-bay are "new, in the box" or "never used". I just wonder, where do you get the stuff??? Is it things that has been given to you or do you buy things at thrift stores for example?

The items I've put up on ebay that are new, have either been gifts to my niece that she never played with, something that was bought and put away for later (and forgotten about!) or something that I've won in a contest.

For me it is stuff I was given and never used.
