SAH Business Goals
For those of you trying to make money at home, do you write down business goals or have goals in mind. I do online consignment for people from my home and want to really get it to take off. I have done pretty good so far with several continuous consignment accounts but thought I would try and get some more.... what do you do to jump start your business. I got some business cards made up and I want to write down goals...
Here's what I have come up with:
1. List 300 items by 8/31/05 (50 items a week)
2. Make $500 in profit during this time.
3. Contact 3 people about consigning for them.
4. Call 2 present accounts to update and sell for them.
5. Give out/post 10 business cards.
Good luck to me...lol.... I am setting my goals high and i hope to meet at least half of them..
What kind of goals do you have for your at-home business?

I have some ideas floating around in my head, but nothing worked out on paper. What a great inspiration to get off my lazy butt and write them down.
I sell books on Half.com, and have just started looking into buying books at library sales and reselling them. Here's my goals for the rest of the year:
1. Keep income/expense records - kind of like a profit/loss statement. Find out what I'm making, what I'm selling, what I'm listing that doesn't sell. See if I can establish a pattern so I can forecast reasonable sales goals for next year.
2. Come up with a listing criteria - how often should I adjust the pricing on my items, when should I just admit that the item isn't selling and is taking up space on my shelf, etc.
3. Create my own paperwork system for shipping orders - my own custom labels, business cards, packing slip, etc.
Though on the bright side, here's what I've accomplished in the last month:
1. Located a supplier for bubble mailers, and bought a case of 100
2. Found a listing of all the library sales in MA, marked down which ones I want to go to.
3. Bought a bookshelf dedicated to items I'm selling
4. Started a spreadsheet to keep track of my inventory, as well as expenses and income.
I guess since I'm selling online, I don't need to worry quote so hard about getting the word out - other than I always tell people to look on Half.com for books or DVDs!Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06) and Oliver Andrew (5/25/12)
