Being a SAHM, I sometimes do a bit of babysitting. This week, I babysat Mon, Tues, and Wed mornings and made $90! My son had a blast as he had little friends here to play with him.

The other thing I do is a bit of desk top publishing. I just finished putting a cookbook together for a community close by. It was an extra bit of money that definitely was needed!

I teach piano lessons and tutor after school. I also have been selling things online to bring in some extra cash. In the past, I have typed things for people who hated to type to bring in an extra buck or two.

~if you sew, you can do alterations. I've made a tidy sum this summer doing alterations here in our small town. Its not something I'd do for a living, however to make a few extra dollars its okay.

    ~do baking for someone

~till someone's garden or weed it
~help older people in repairing their homes. ie painting for them, building a shelf, etc. Dh is called all the time to hang pictures, paint, build flower plants, etc.

~take care of someone's home while they are away

    ~knit or crochet for someone
    ~teach a craft
    ~deliver papers

I teach piano, DH substitutes for all the local school districts and designs web-sites sometimes. The subbing alone brings in nearly $100 a day, which we are very greatful for, believe me!

    What I *am* doing:

Alright.... I hired myself out at the "bun Wagon" - it's a mobile burger stop. it brings in about 400$ for two days a week and I get 2 meals free when I work there. also if there is hamburger left over thawed on sunday I take it home. I can't figure out the savings in this - but it's got to add up.... also I can bike to the wagon - no gas.... good excersice (maybe help get rid of the burgers I eat while I'm there?)

Traded canning for meat. Just got 1/2 a deer again. I divy it in half and can up 1/2 for stew. Hunter gets half.... I get half.... I'd say about 40$ in savings.....

Sneak and substitute powdered milk for 'real' milk. I find I can go to 2/3 powdered and 1/3 regular without anyone noticing. Milk goes for almost 7$ /4 ltr - 28$ a month.... I save about 21 dollars. I've been doing this lately as we're still paying off our wedding (which was done very cheaply - -under 3000$)

    What I *could* be doing:

I could hire myself out to weed and get gardens ready for winter. Lots of seniors.

I could hire myself out to oamc for seniors

sell handspun wool (in the process of spinning stock)

babysit - lots of kids and I have a decent reputation with the moms

sell my unused craft supplies at the 'craft supply sale fair' (pre craft fair)

Besides my full time job I do three housekeeping jobs. For one of the people I go every Monday and the other two are every other Monday and every other Friday. I make A $160 extra each month. It's nice to have the extra cash when you make extra money, but let me tell you that it does burn you out.

I make craft items and rubber stamped cards to consign in a friend's gift shop.

I also take pictures for our church functions and things like anniversaries and birthday parties, baby showers, etc. I haven't done a wedding yet...not sure I am good enough for that!

Do fill in daycare for my dsis, $25 a day. Her daycare provider sure does have alot of days off!

Make gift baskets for people. Along with jar mixes, glycerin soaps, bath salts, etc.

Sign up for a marketing research panel - I was reading something and came across this one by accident, and knew it was 'real'. I just signed up about 3 weeks ago and was surprised because I got an offer to participate in TWO panels, each paying $200. They operate across the US and it's free to sign up:

    www.donowresearch.com

If you wouldn't mind listing me as your referral if you do sign up I am not really sure if I get anything out of it, but I figured they must ask for a reason! Name is Karen Schneider, email is kar3881@yahoo.com.
