Ebay Sellers--Beware!
I received this odd question from a buyer on ebay. I usually don't have any problems selling to people on ebay, but there have been a bunch of people from foreign countries sending bogus payments with odd requests like this one. I don't know if this one is authentic, but I doubt this is an honest person. I checked and the buyer is no longer a registered user and their country of origin is OMAN. Oman, I believe, is in the Middle East. So, be really, really careful. I'm only taking money orders from Canadian buyers, the rest will have to pay with paypal. 99% of the people on ebay are good people, but as ebay gets larger, I'm finding there are a lot of dishonest people trying to scam us! Just a heads up!
"After several consideration over the advert placed on the website,my client has really shown interest in it and would really want to issue the payment in form of Money Order/Cashier's check. Will you be accepting a Money Order? The Money Order/Cashier's check that will be drawn by my client would include the cost for shipping this item to my client and my commission would be included on the same Money Order/Cashier's check. We shall solely be responsible for the shippment of the item. This mean you are to get the check cash it immidiately deduct the BUY IT NOW of your item and transfer the ecxess funds to the shipping company via WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER so that the shipping company can come to your house for the pick up of the item so you need not to worry about the shippment of the item okay.
Kindly send your information such as NAME , ADDRESS ,CITY, STATE, PHONE to overnight the payment your address today asap. "
Regards,

I had a friend that was selling a baby grand piano. Someone tried sending her a cashier's check from a U.S. bank, however, it was a bogus check. So, people really need to be careful.

Shopgirl, that is definitely a scam!
I did read that a lot of people have stopped accepting cashiers checks at all.

I know! This is the first weird email like this I've got. I've sold on ebay for over 5 years, and never had anything like this one. I did send the person a reply back. I'm curious to see if they write back. I doubt they will.

I have heard of the sort of request you received and it is as scam. You were wise to hesitate.
