Frustrated with eBay
I post things from time to time to sell, and I never seem to sell anything or it goes for next to nothing. It is getting to the point that I barely break even with the fees and my time.
I just listed a Talbot's dress and a pair of new Steve Madden shoes. The dress didn't sell, the shoes sold for 9.99.
I must be trying to sell the wrong things. I generally only list things I think might go better.
Ugh.

It totally seems to be hit and miss...I bought an item from a friend of mine on ebay (she needed the money to pay her electric bill), so I relisted the item and made double what she did, even though it was the same exact auction posted almost identical. who knows?!? Hope things pick up for you

I agree with the hit and miss...i think some times it just depends on who is actually there..kinda like the right place, right time type thing.
I have noticed that when I start the bidding lower and let them calc. shipping it goes alot better. Sometimes alot higher than the people who start their auctions high to begin with.
Also, depending on the day it ends, it will go higher (per my DH), but I am not sure..the past 2 weeks I have posted things, I have had them ending on Sunday, mainly because I started them on Sunday. DH says that Saturday evening I think you will end with the highest bidders..but I can't remember exactly.

I think I start mine too early - I post them in the morning, and they end early so I think I might knock out a lot of last minute bidders who could drive the price up. Maybe I'll try and repost the dress tonight.

Philip swears by listing it late afternoon/early evening on Monday and only running it five days so it will end on a weekend night. You want those west coast e-bayers to have a chance too. Also a shipping calculator is a good idea. For the coupons we sell we offer free shipping and we've sold all the coupons we've ever listed minus one batch.
Good luck!
