Default Picked up a little extra work

The guidance counselor at our school asked me yesterday if I'd be willing to do bedside instruction for a few weeks for one of our students who broke his collarbone and arms playing football and has been out for a week and a half and will be out for another month. It will only be for 3 weeks, but it will net a few hundred bucks. He's due 5 hours a week, and I can't do it during the week because I have play practice, but I'm going to do it from 12-2:30 on Saturdays and Sundays for 3 weeks. Then another teacher will pick it up. Dh wasn't too happy about me taking weekend time to do this, but the fact is, we need the money and it's for a limited time, so I accepted the job.

Good for you Amy. A little here & there really adds up and the temporary aspect of it is ideal.

It will help out your finances and the student will benefit from your help. Sounds like a win-win situation.

That is great...It is always nice to have something to do to make money without it being a full time commitment.

I think it's great it worked out to where you could work on weekends. It's hard to pass up an opportunity to make extra money. Gabe sometimes goes on call on weekends for extra cash. I can understand how your hubby feels about the weekend. It is a bummer on weekends, but it's a great opportunity and only for a few weeks.

I think it's great that you want to do it, on the weekends. My dh used to be a farmer and I can tell you from experience that for farm families, the weekends are usually no different from the rest of the week. So I completely understand your motivation and at least it's temporary and you'll feel the boost in your own economy

I am like the rest. It is great that you can pick up a little extra cash. I have been working 2 jobs since March. Since then I put in 60-65 hours a week. I know how tiring it can get. But in the end it is worth it. I have one of dh c.c paid off. Just found out today that I have one of mine paid off. Dh c.c have the higer blances on them since he has a better credit than I do. So I am hoping that I will have almost half of another of dh c.c paid off by then end of the year.
