    Default mystery shopping

Has anyone done it? I was thinking about applying for a company in Ireland but was wondering what it really entailed.
    Thanks for any help

I do some - I currently mystery shop for a local grocery store chain. I don't take on too many because this particular shop is fairly long and you have to buy something which cuts into the reimbursement. I use to shop for a steak house chain and loved that. Even though the reimbursement didn't cover the entire meal, DH & I got to go out on a nice date for a fraction of the regular cost.

I think it depends on how much time the actual shop takes. And what they reimburse. Do you have to make a purchase? Do they reimburse for your purchase in addition to what they pay you?

I don't generally mind the grocery store shops because I can always think of something I need like milk or bread. But, I never took the ones that involved pretending to be in the market to buy something - like a car - even though those shops always paid a ton of money.

I do a little bit. I always weight the time the shop takes versus what it pays. Don't pay to sign up with a company, there are companies that will let you sign with them for free. I personally love it and the little extra money is great.

I've done it- but found I am WAY too shy. For one store I had to ask for help in 11 different grocery/store departments... I began to feel really silly. And at the bank I had to make 3 transactions... and make up a story to talk to the manager. I felt like a fraud, and they figured out I was mystery shopping before I left. I guess it just depends on what they want you to do to see if it's worth it or not.
