    Default Good sell vibes needed!!

I put up some of my baby furniture up for sale at a local classified ad group. Hopefully I'll be able to sell this stuff.

    Baby cradle, rocking kind wooden...40.00
    baby bassinette, wheeled...20.00
baby swing, open top type...ds2 hated it, scared the whiz out of him, lol. 25.00

wish me luck that this stuff sells! if it doesn't sell by posting it at the classified site, has anyone here had luck with putting classified ads in local newspaper? I have never done it before. Any tips? Are the prices good? All these are in great shape...especially the swing. He used it four or five times, for less than a minute each time. He HATED it. I don't want to put them up at ebay. Because shipping on these things would be an absolute nightmare. Any ideas other than classified ads?

Missy, I sending good selling vibes your way!

I've done local newspaper selling. It's best for bigger things like vehicles and big furniture or appliances because the cost here runs about $13 - $15.00 per ad and that runs 2 times. For selling your baby items, I would lump them all into one ad to get the best value. You can pick up a form and get the prices at your newspaper office and then write it out on plain piece of paper and see what the cost will be before completing the form and taking it back for publishing. Try to use a cell phone # for contact but if not available, I've used my home phone and not had any problems. I just always made sure no one came by to look at anything unless dh was home too. Good luck!

I have listed items for sale in the classifieds before and found that if you state...say for example....a basinette....describe the great condition that its in and ask 10-15 dollars higher than your minimum price that you will accept for it...if you'll go as low as 40, ask 50-55 for it, then put OBO.People love to get a bargain and will try to get you to go lower on your price....that way, you'll still get a good price for your item and the buyers will feel that they were clever enough to get a bargain
