Ebay -Best day to list and other questions
I was just curious what you all think the best day to list your items on eBay.
I listed some on eBay last Tuesday and they ended last night. I did pretty well $220+ and $160 has already been paid into paypal. I had several items that didn't sell but listing for only 10 cent wasn't a big deal.
Also, I have a few questions on shipping.
1. What day do you usually list?
2. Do you usually have high shipping and low bid price or normal prices and pretty accurate shipping?
3. What items do you sell the most of?
4. I have some boys clothing - all I purchased new and worn by one child - is it better to list the items seperately or do a lot of 4-5 items.
Any input is appreciated.
I have decided that I will put effort into eBay sells this year in order to complete the 2006 Debt Challenge.

We usually list Mondays or Tuesdays with a 5 day auction, to end on the weekend. It's also better to end in the p.m hours, statistics indicate more people are online then.
We do low prices and as accurate shipping as we can.
We sell mostly coupons but also vintage action figures (G.I Joes, Star wars toys, etc.) I don't know anything about selling clothes, though.
Good luck!

1. What day do you usually list? ........I usually list on Monday or Tuesday and do 5 or 7 day auctions but I have also listed on Sunday and do 7 day auctions so my auctions will end on Sunday evening. I've always heard that the best day to end your auctions is Sunday evening and I've tried that but didn't seem to make much difference and I hate to have to sit by the computer on Sunday evening. But I think it also depends on what you are selling. I had my best luck with craft items ending during the weekday and early mornings.
2. Do you usually have high shipping and low bid price or normal prices and pretty accurate shipping?........ I start my bid price at the lowest amount I will take for my item. I don't use a Reserve. I have in the past and felt it was a waste of money on my auctions. My shipping cost is actual mailing cost plus $1.00 to cover delivery confirmation and the cost of packing materials. I do charge a little more for shipping if I had to go out and buy extra stuff to make sure it is packed safely.
3. What items do you sell the most of?......... Craft books, Craft magazines, unfinished Craft items, books (old and newer) but had better luck selling the older ones. I've sold a few clothes and lots of knick knacks, vintage stuff seems to sell well too, like fishing lures and musical instruments. I sell anything I can get my hands on, lol.
4. I have some boys clothing - all I purchased new and worn by one child - is it better to list the items seperately or do a lot of 4-5 items. .......I would try 2 auctions selling them as a lot and see how they sell and then decide if you should try doing one at a time. Most of the maternity clothes that I got I'm going to list as a lot because when I checked "completed items" for that brand I saw they went for huge amounts. But the non-maternity clothes like the jeans I will sell 1 at a time.
Good luck and happy ebaying!

1. What day do you usually list? I usually list on Saturday or Sunday and run for 7 days. Sometimes I'll list on Monday or Tuesday and list for 5 days, but I usually try to have the auctions end on the weekend.
2. Do you usually have high shipping and low bid price or normal prices and pretty accurate shipping? I start the bid usually pretty low and use accurate shipping. I usually ad $.50 to $1.00 for supplies.
3. What items do you sell the most of? I've been selling my clothes, shoes and other accessories that I don't need. I just moved and I can't believe all the clothes I had that I don't need. I'm going to start listing some tomorrow.
4. I have some boys clothing - all I purchased new and worn by one child - is it better to list the items seperately or do a lot of 4-5 items. I haven't sold any kids clothes yet, but I've heard that they sell in lots better than they do separately.
Best of luck! I love selling on E-Bay. You re-inspired me to get listing!!~Kim~
