Another ebay question

I haven't bought or sold on ebay in years...maybe 2-3 yrs. So, I signed back up because we have a new email account, etc. so I re-registered. When I went to sign up for Paypal, it is saying that I have previously used paypal under that email account?? I know I haven't because we haven't had cable that long and that's what email address I used to sign up. (clear as mud???)
What's the deal??

Log into your old Paypal account and change the email address to your new address.

Well, that really doesn't make sense because they are saying I have used THIS email account. They didn't say I had an account under my *name* or home address already, just my email account??? Thanks though...I'll try to do that and see what happens.
