Default rock - me - hard place

I am between a rock and hard place lately. I want to save up money, and since mil's funeral (we had to tap our savings to pay for it. fil washed his hands of it and made us be responsible for it. ) we have been out of whack with our normal budget and falling behind. So i need some ideas for raising some money

my friends here are saving their cans for me to pick up on sundays to turn in...
i have things for sale (here and at ebay)...
i can't handle baby sitting, and can't take on any paper route (driving restrictions)...
noone to watch the kids, so no taking on PT job (dh's hours are out of control)...
surveys have not panned out well for me thus far...
i am working on reorganising our debt too.

    ideas?

Well do you like to garden? I did gardening for seniors....many had lovely gardens which they had worked on for many years but they just couldn't do everything anymore. I did that from when I finished homeschooling end of may until Mid to the end of Sept. the last 2 years.......it payed well and I could dictate the hours. I even took jobs where I could take the children and they even helped me. The bonus is I recieved many plants for free 9divisions) and many free vegetables and fruit........ I also had a few garden jobs where I bartered for lessons for the children.

I also tutored ESL children. That payed very well. And that is what I did during the school year. Again, you can dictate the hours. We also took in Exchange students when they were available.. They paid up to $200 per week.

In summer we go berry picking too. I could easily make $40 per day. The Kids love this because they pick for money too!

I also was restricted by the children (homeschooling and and Dh who was never home) but even with the children these were good ways to make money.....

I know a few people who are selling books at half.com and other places. Maybe you could use a very small amount of the money from the sale of your pump (say $10-$20) to buy good used books at yard sales or thrift shops (after making sure you know what to look for by scoping out what is already selling) and selling them. I might be able to find out more about this for you, but I am going on vacation in about 24 hours and may not have the answers for you before then.

Also, I know someone that writes magazine articles.

in canada when someone dies you can apply for a death benefit to help pay for the funeral cost. i'm not sure if the deceased had to have been a senior or not. it isn't taxed as i recall. if i were you, i would look into it, even if you are not in canada, your government may have something similar. it's too bad you guys are having to take care of the funeral arrangements instead of fil. it's alot to deal with the greiving, let alone the details of a funeral and all that. i wish i had a magic answer for you about how to raise money fast, but i don't. the plus side of me not having that magic answer is that i found this site with alot of caring people who have human struggles just like me. i hope fil has a change of heart and helps out, even if it is a little. god bless, and all the best to you. if i can think of something else, i will post again.

I can't think of any thing right now but I wanted you to know you are in my prayers.
