Finally got in the flea mall
I was put on the list last October. They called in June right as we were moving and I told the lady I wanted to booth but we really busy and if I said no,where would she put me,at the very bottom or just move me down a spot. Well,I never heard back from her.
We went there today just to shop and look around so I ask a girl there about it and the manager overheard me and said he could give me one today and it'd be ready Aug 1st
So...I took it.....I have lots of stuff to sell now from the move until hopefully I can find something else.
I did notice no one there sells homemade candles and hasnt since they opened last Sept.So that may be an option. Candle making its just an expensive thing to do unless you really have a huge turn over.
I'm excited and scared. What if I dont make anything?! My booth rent is $110,plus they get 5% commission....Its a huge store,an old Wal-Mart building and has over 400 dealers. And he SAID they did at least $100,000+ per month (or was it week) in sales.......We'll try it a few months and see how it goes....wish me luck!!!!

How does it work? Do you have to man your booth or is it a co-op type thing where you work certain days? Or does the flea mall handle all the sales?
Regardless how it works, wishing you lots of success and fun.

That is so great! My ex and I used to do this for a living. We did pretty well in busy spots.
ONE TIP: If you are crafty or are able to acquire this cheap: Find something you can sell to kids for $1-2 apiece. This was our biggest moneymaker (we sold jewelry, at the time those hemp bracelets were really in.) You can also make princess crowns for little girls very inexpensively. You get that wire garland (like Christmas stuff) with something pretty on it like stars. Cut that and wind it into a circle for the childs head, then get that long curling ribbon in co-ordinating colors and make a long train of curling ribbon strands down the back. Quite pretty and the little ones love it. I sold those for $2. Parents always buy their kids something in hopes that the kids will let them shop in peace -- you are just helping out those poor parents, lol!

Sara...Its an old WM building (not sure if I already said) and you have booths divided by lattice walls.....you do your own.you tag everything with a lil description of what you have...like pink shoes $2 with your dealer number.....The guy said he likes people to come check and make sure their space is cleaned and neat at least once a week or once every 2 weeks.

Oh another inexpensive idea that sells well at fairs & festivals around here are water balloon yo yos.
You get regular (not water balloons) round balloons. Fill them to about C-cup size
full of water and tie them up. Then tie a LARGE rubber band around the knot. Decorate the outside with puffy paint and voila! A water balloon yo yo. These sold for $1 each at the festival I went to a few weeks ago.
