I'm so proud of myself! I just wanted to share with everyone!
The past 2 weeks have been very busy! At times, I wasn't sure that I could get it all done without losing my mind.
I registered to sell items in 2 church consignment sales & also my neighborhood was having a multi-family yard sale!
these consignment sales are really cool! This is the first year that I have sold in one. You have to hang all items on hangers & fill out a small detailed card that you safety pin on each item. The sellers keep 70% and the church gets to keep 30% (this 30% goes towards their women's ministries) I will also get a tax statement at the end of the year from each church as the 30% is considered a tax-deductible donation.
I set a few goals that I had hoped were attainable. My goal for both consignment sales was $200 total between the two. My goal for the yard sale was $20 (I would have been happy with anything since all the kids stuff went to the church.)
so......... consignment sale #1 was Aug 18 & 19 and I made $126.35
consignment sale #2 was this weekend & I made approx $130.00 (the check will be in the mail next week)
and the yard sale - I made $77.40 (and the left overs were donated, so that's another tax receipt!
so a grand total (to go towards my cc) is $333.75
so I encourage anyone that has these types of consignment sales in their area, try one & see how it goes! I was really impressed!

thanks!
I was very happy with the garage/yard sale totals. I was willing to drop the price for anyone that asked. (all they had to do was ask)
there was one gentleman that asked (in broken english) very basic questions about EVERYTHING, and asked if I would take $1 - $2 less for each & every item he bought, but he bought sooooooo much! It was really kinda cool, I was so impressed with him. If an item was $5, he'd ask "you take $3?". If an item was $2, he's ask "you take $1?" and my side of the conversation was "okay".............. "okay".................. "okay"

That's really cool! I hope I sell a lot of my stuff at a yard sale I'm going to try to have in fall when things cool off here. I may do some consignment if I find the right place.
