Default I forgot to tell you all

I'm an Avon rep again! I hope to be able to make enough to add a few dollars now and then to my secret savings. I can't tell DH about it because the plan is to fix his truck with it. Something he won't do for himself. So among other things i want to do, i have a secret truck stash i am hiding for him.

Good luck on your new endeavor. I was wondering if you make alot from Avon, I know it depends on how much you sell but what is the percentage? I would love to do it on the side.

I was wondering about this a bit too - I would love to sell Avon but wasn't sure about "start-up" cost or anything.........

Good luck with the sales. That is very sweet of you to use your earnings to fix your DHs truck. You are a sweetheart!

Good luck! I like Avon, but hate getting contant visits/catalogs. Do you have a website set up? My sister used to sell it & had a website through Avon.

Great, Missy! So thoughtful of you to save up for your DH.

The start-up for Avon is only $10. For that $10, you get 10 books each for the next two campaigns, the Avon binder (part 1- part 2 comes with your first shipment) and some samples, etc. Really not much to lose by selling.

I told my district manager when I became a rep (6 months ago or so) that I wasn't going to be a high seller- I'm just doing it for myself and to make a few extra bucks. I just take the brochures with me to work and if people want them, they can take them, if not, no biggie. We are not allowed to have websites unless we pay $15 a month to be eReps, which isn't worth it for someone like me, but maybe Missy has one. I just send out the catalog links to family too far away to give the books to, and I try not to pester anyone.

The percentage that you make is anywhere from 0% (if you sell less than $25 in a campaign) to 50% if you sell more than $1550. I generally get 20% (for selling between $25 and $144) and it usually pays for what I buy plus a little extra left over.

I say if you interested, just go for it. I have only been to one meeting, and it wasn't too bad- I got several freebies and would go to more if I could (I always have conflicts.) You don't even have to sell every campaign- as long as you order at least some catalogs every couple weeks, you are good, and you have to go two months in a row without ordering ANYTHING to be considered inactive.

    Good luck, Missy!

And if you happen to come across any Sensual Embrace (discontinued scent), plmk. It was my favorite, and now I can only find it on Ebay.

i sold Mary Kay in the past and i would not recommend it. i think Avon is more frugal when it comes to selling cosmetics. MK wants you to buy huge amounts of inventory and pester you to do it.

You're right about the difference- Avon doesn't require you to purchase any inventory at all. Nobody from Avon has even spoken to me in months (well, except when I call customer service.)

I won't say it is a perfect system or anything, but it is cheap enough and easy enough that if someone thinks they want to try it, they should. The first four campaigns, as long as you order online and sell $25 each campaign, they actually give you 50% off, so even if you just want to buy a bunch of stuff for yourself for four campaigns and then quit, if you will use the stuff, it is worth it.
