Default I may have a job:)

I may be a substitute teacher for the KDO program down the street. The director called me back and right now they're looking for someone actually to pick up all three days they're open in their "crib 1" room and AJ gets to go with me for free and hang out in the toddler 2 room. I know the director and the staff and they are all super nice people. She said eventually, it would likely just be one or two days here and there. The pay is only $5.50 an hour, but after I factor in that I can take AJ for free and they'll take next to nothing in taxes out, it's more than I would bring home with just about any of the other jobs I've looked at. Plus, I'd know where my son was and what he was doing all day. He already knows some of the kids that go there too so I think he'd be happy. I have to go down next week to fill out a background check and then I can probably start after the fall break.

Absolutely. I was thinking about it last night and with the "free" childcare it works out to be a pretty decent wage. If I had to pay for childcare, it would still be considered a full day so a minimum of $25 (and that is the bottom of the pack around here). If I add that in, I'll be making over $10 an hour essentially and still get to see my ds from time to time and check on him when I want to....and I get to play all day. What could be more fun that that? I was also thinking that working there for a little while might give me an in for doing childcare at home since I would have a local reference. I could make a lot more keeping kids myself. It would appear that someone is looking out for us for sure
