$$$ in your trash
Okay, I am not a big refunder, etc. I will send in a refund if it is for $10 or so but don't bother with little ones. So I don't usually keep upcs and that sort of thing.
But after someone on this forum mentioned selling (trading) boxtops for education, I started looking to see what other items like this sells. So I searched another board that is a coupon trading board and then went to eBay to see what things sell for. I am not a collector of junk but sometimes I think maybe I'll use the pts for whatever reason so I hesitate to throw them away. I have one drawer where I keep this kind of stuff.
Here are a few of the items I found.
Box Tops for Education - I sold 100 + of these and still have more
Coke Rewards Codes - I have about 120 pts so I will probably trade or sell them. I actually have nearly 300 in my cokerewards account but can't seem to find a thing I want.
Maxwell House Points - Not sure how many of these I have - 90 or 120 pts I think but there isn't anything I want that the points are for
Old Ink Cartridges - I have put these on eBay to see how they do. Looking at closed auctions I have been amazed at how much these can sell for.
So what things do you know sell on eBay or that can be traded that we may have just sitting around the house.

My husband just started laughing at me when I was going through our dumpsters (we have 5 at our apartment complex) and getting the coke codes off of empty 12 packs!
I've been doing ok with selling them - I was collecting them until they ran out of the reward I wanted. I've been getting $2 for 60 points. It doesn't seem like much, but I usually use the money to "buy" other coupons so it does work out!
I've also occasionally been able to sell the Campbells Labels for Education (CLFE) and the Tyson A+ Panels.
I also considered for a while collecting the Marlboro miles - seems like empty cigarette packs are everywhere around here - but decided that even if I don't smoke, that collecting them and cashing them in for a reward would still support the tobacco industry. Of course, this is my personal choice - I've seen a lot of people who don't smoke collect them and get some pretty decent prizes!
And thanks for pointing out that you can sell ink cartridges on eBay - I'll have to check that out! Around here you can turn them in for a $3 store credit at Staples - but if I can sell them for more, then I would!Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06) and Oliver Andrew (5/25/12)

Wow, everyday I am more thankful that I found FV!
I have a couple of ink cartridges that I never threw out, guess it's a good thing I still have them...
I am amazed though with what people will buy. I've been collecting the Coke Rewards codes from our 12 packs and using the points for magazine subscriptions but sooner or later we've have all the subscriptions we can stand so hopefully those thing will still be going strong on ebay when that time comes, haha.

ink jet carts, old cell phones, box tops, campbell's labels, & tyson labels all earn money for individual public schools (usually elem schools) I can't believe someone would buy them though! I support my son's school, but good grief!
I used to collect marlboro miles when I was younger, I still have a few of the 'rewards' (believe it or not, it's nice stuff!) Camel used to have 'camel cash' but I don't know if they still do or not.
I may try collecting marlboro miles again - you are so right - there are empty packs all over the place!
What are the coke rewards? I'm not an avid coke drinker, but many friends/family are -- I'm always digging through their garbage can (they just have to laugh) I'm usually pulling off campbell's labels or box tops - so coke rewards just give me one more thing to go fishing for.
good luck to all selling goodies on ebay! ((people will buy anything!!))Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die

oh - there is another that I thought of -- beside the box top, you will usually see a 'betty crocker' point -- I'm not sure if there is anything worth saving for -- the last time I looked, it seemed like you still had to pay too much $$ to get anything good. (it's been awhile since I looked though)
