    Default Questions About Mystery Shopping

I am really interested in doing this and need to understand how it works.
Do you have to spend your own money and they reimberse you?
Can you just work on weekends? That would be the only time I could get to the stores.
    I don't mind paperwork.
Could someone please give me a couple companies that are on the up and up.
I only want to make a couple hundred extra a month or so ( if possible )
I want to use it for a Christmas fund..
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Yes, you do use your money and then they reimburse you, usually the following month. You'd be hard pressed to make a couple of hundred mystery shopping - there's not that much money in it, and the work seems to come in fits and starts. I've done 5 assignments in the last week, but didn't having anything before then for a few weeks. I average around £50-60 per month, plus stuff I get to keep that I've bought. The sorts of assignments I get are (for example) go to Walmart and visit this department and that department, spend £13 and we'll pay you £5 for the visit, so I get £18 free shopping. I've done two at Vodafone where I had to ask about a particular calling plan (£10 for each assignment, but no spending money), and 3 banks where I had to ask about a particular checking account (again £10 for each one but no spending money).

The companies that I use are:

    retail eyes
    grass roots
    retail maxim

Of these I get the most work from grass roots, but I don't know if they are in the U.S. You can also sign up to volition. They have all kinds of information about mystery shopping.

    Good luck.

Look at the "mystery shop site" post. You;ll find lots fo good info there. I shop LOTS, you will find some good info on that thread. I also cannot stress the importance and value of volition.com. It's really all you will ever need.

do you mean that you tried to sign up for Volition and you were told it was not valid? I had that happen to me when I signed up. They said that my user name was not close enough to my real name. I signed up using TraciC. My first name is Traci and my last initial is C. Can't get any closer. I just tried again and it worked. The mod at Volition (Ray) is a piece of work. I try not to post there because he always has something to say about my posts. I lurk there to get info. I also go to MSFreedom which has a message board that is a lot more friendly.

No kidding about Ray S. he is a piece for sure! I have tried to post a few times, he has removed my posts, and edited them as well. I posted something one day, he removed it, then I saw the next poster posting practically the same thing - he didn;t touch it?? Anyway, lots of good info there, just for reading. My user name is TRACI18, guess he thought that was close enough. (yup, I am a Traci with an "i" too!) Can you give more info on the MSFreedom site? What;'s the address?
    TIA
