I sell occassionally on Half.com. The difference between them and ebay is there is NO listing fee. Your item is also listed on half.con until it is sold, unlike at ebay. Half.com takes a small commission after the item sales. They also calculate shipping for you into the sale once it is sold. They buyer pays directly to half.com and then half.com either mails you a check (once a month) or direct deposits it into your bank account (twice a month).
I hope this helps some. I hope it made sense...lol!

Thanks, that does help! It sounds like half.com would be much easier to use. I've been trying to think of what to do with all those books I won't read again, now I know!!

I like to sell my books, videos and cd's on half.com. Half.com pays you for media shipping. So make sure when you ship to let the postmaster know you want media shipping. People who buy on half.com know they are paying media shipping on books, videos, cd's, dvd's, etc.
Also, if you will not be able to check your email for 2 days or more, click on the "on vacation" in your account because if someone orders something from you and you do not reply to the email, they will cancel the order.
Good luck! I think you will like half.com better.

I haven't had much luck on half.com. What kinds of books do well on there? I've had some stuff listed for a year that has not sold. I've done better on eBay, but would appreciate any tips for half.com as well!

I just started to sell there less than a month ago and made 2 sales.... I am happy, there are books and/or video's that would just sit around my house..
Some of the books aren't selling as quickly as I hoped BUT it is something and I am happy so far...
I liked the idea I didn't have to pay to list an item, with everything I think it just all depedns on what you are selling...
I sell on half.com very consistently. I guess the main piece of advice I can offer is to price things fairly, so that they show up on the first page of listings (if it's more expensive than the top 4 or 5 items in that condition, it will be sent to the background, where no one can see it unless they click on the "more" button next to the listing). Also, I go into my account under manage inventory and check my listings every week or so to ensure they are still on the front page and haven't been pushed back by new, cheaper listings. I drop my prices enough to stay on the forefront, and do very well selling books and cds for pretty decent prices.
Make sure you describe your items very accurately, because half.com tends to side with the buyer if the buyer complains about an item they bought from you. I believe at that point the money can be removed from your half.com seller account, if you're found to be at fault. I've never had this problem as a seller, but as a buyer who received one item that was sorely mis-described, I found it quite easy to get my money refunded (thank God).
