Default Forming an LLC is easy!!!

Forming an limited liability company was so much easier than I thought. The steps are simple:
    1. Chose a name and search for the name at the Office of the secretary of state.
    2. If the name of the LLC is available, then you can either reserve it (costs you $30) or go straight ahead and fill out the article of organization online since you get a response with the certificate in a couple of days. In GA, it costs $100.00 to file. It takes about 5 minutes to fill the form out online.
    3. Once you receive the certificate of organization (online in a couple of days), register the trade name of the company in the county (about $30).
    4. Take the regitration document to the newspaper for it to be published in the legal section (another $40).
Total we paid for the process: $170.00

So why do CPAs and attorneys charge $500+???
    Its such a rip off!!

Do you happen to know if it's required by law in all states to have it published in the newspaper? This is the first time I've heard that was necessary.

I'm not sure. I suspect that it is important if you require a business license since you would be "doing business as ..." in that county/state. Plus, some banks do not allow a business account to be opened without the license and tax id number.
