Just joined a home party program - any tips??
I just joined a really good home party program (decorations, candles, stoneware, etc) and am having my "grand opening" party at my house on Tuesday. I'm really excited because I actually found over 30 people to invite and so far I know that 5 are for sure coming.

Anyway, after this grand opening party, it'll be my job to go into people's homes and do home parties.
I KNOW that there are a lot of you on here that do things like this for a living and I'd LOVE some tips or advice! What party games do you like to play? How do you incorporate sharing the business and/or get people to book more parties?
The benefits of hosting are awesome, so I'm HOPING that bookings won't be hard! The training info I got from the company is excellent, but I thought I'd venture out to get more ideas! You can never have too many good ideas!
I was thinking about doing fun things like BINGO and having the words be related to the business - whether it's the free stuff for being a hostess or about joining with the company, etc. ........... I was also thinking about doing something silly to keep their attention. I bought some pom poms today on Target clearance and I'm going to hand one out to everyone and have them wave it and cheer anytime I say a certain word (I was thinking about any time I said the company name or the word free)
Anyway, those are my ideas so far!!!!

What company??

I am with Brown bag Parties (as yuo can see by my siggy) So is Bumplett!
There is a Tupperware lady here and a few Avon ladies as well.
One game is an adaptation of a baby shower game. Everyone gets a little ribbon, pin, bracelet, whatever. (better if it's a little something from your product line) hand one to everyone. If someone says for instance "candle(slightly different word for my parties, lol)" they lose their item to the person who catches them say it. By the end of the evening the one with all the "stolen loot" gets a prize or gets to take those items home as a gift.~~ Missy ~~

I think you are going to be awesome at this! I love the BINGO idea using company products on the B-I-N-G-O card. If you use pom-poms, you can give a gift to the person who cheers the loudest and the most.
Here are a few fun games:
Purse game - call out items in a purse, usually unusal things ie. photo key chain, invite to the party, picture of them as a child, their wedding picture, most keys on key chain, most credit cards, most pennies, etc.
The Candy Quiz - Have each guest number their paper 1 - 18. Tell the guests that you are going to tell them something, and that they need to write the answer in terms of candy, a candy bar, or other candy.
Questions/statements and Answers:
1) A famous trio? (3 Musketeers)
2) A Galaxy? (Milky Way)
3) Can't hold on to anything? (Butterfinger)
4) Twin letters? (M&M's)
5) To chuckle to oneself? (Snickers)
6) Before 1? (Zero)
7) A famous baseball player? (Babe Ruth)
8) A workers favorite day of the week? (Payday)
9) An Indian burial ground? (Mounds)
10) A joy to be around? (Almond Joy)
11) A rainbow of color? (Skittles)
12) They can save your life? (Lifesavers)
13) A planet (Mars)
14) What do you call this? (Whatchamacallit)
15) Superman's human name? (Clark)
16) A famous New York street? (5th Ave)
17)These Tamalies are great? (Lemon Head)
18) Don't be a sourhead? (Lemon Head)
PASS THE GIFT GAME-Use an inexpensive gift, such as a candle in a jar, or what ever your business can offer to the guest, ( under $5 or $10).
Start by giving the gift to the hostess or person in the middle of the group.
1. Take this gift and with out a sigh look around and give it to a person with brown eyes.
2.Yes, you are the lucky one for a moment, but let us all share in the fun! Please look around with eyes discreet and give it to the one with the smallest feet.
3. Your feet are tiny and very small, now hand it to someone very tall.
4. Please take your time and don't be harried. Give it to the one who is longest married.
5. You must be proud of your life, now please pass this to the newest wife.
6. Of this parcel you are bereft, give it to the one on your left.
7. The largest earrings I'm looking for now, if you are wearing them, step up and bow.
8. Now to the person with buttons... big or small, any kind, the most you can find, gets the gift this time.
9. Now don't get cross and please don't fight, but pass it to the person 3rd on your right.
10. We should stop now, don't you agree? This gift is yours to keep with glee!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
(Found this one online and it might help with booking parties...)
Play the "yes" or "no" game.
Give each person a pen and paper. Tell them that the first 9 questions will be 5 points for a "yes" and 1 point for a "no".
Ask questions like, do you wear earings or do you have a blue car? For the last question tell them that "yes" will be 15 points and "no" will be 2 points. The question will be " would you like to host your own (name of company) party???? The winner is the one with the most points and will recieve a special gift!!!!!
Good luck with your party!!~*Michelle*~

Thanks you two!!! Love the ideas!!
LOL at the "slightly different word" comment. I sold adult products at one time for Girlz Nite Out before I got married and I did something similar with some 'fun' shaped erasers.
hahaha
The company is Home & Garden Party. I'm so excited about it and my family is totally done hearing about it. LOL!
