New Kitchen, New Business
Hi Ladies,
I haven't been on the boards in a while, been real busy with kids, full time work, MBA, church, and remodeling my kitchen...not to mention a couple vacations.
So...my kitchen remodel inspired me with regard to starting my own part time small business. I am a "foodie" and as I have embarked on this remodel, I realized that I should make my kitchen into my business/studio and teach recreational cooking classes in my home part time, as well as write . I have finally found a way to combine my passions for food, writing, and teaching! (Its all remodeled into Tuscan style, as I have a custom built house by Sicilian masons.)
I have been a single mom for 3 years now and I have a big house (3000sq ft) for the kids and I. I bought him out during the divorce. I alone (well with the bank) own it. I have been asking myself for a while now, "why do I have this big house?" Finally, I received my answer! I need to build a small business to leverage my assets and follow my passions!
I'm really psyched! The great thing is that I am half way thru my MBA and I can use all my electives that are left to build the right business plan, marketing, etc!
You would all laugh if you knew that I actually work full time in an incredibly technical job! Talk about split brain!
Sometimes, when you least expect it, answer show up right at our feet!
Wish me luck!

Thanks Ladies! I knew I could get that extra emotional support from all of you!
Its going to be an interesting journey but I know I can do it.
As for pics..you don't want to see it right now! walls are ripped down, flooring ripped up, cabinets a wreck....I will post new pics in a month or so when its done. I got a call today that they are delivering the cabinets on Monday! I am so psyched!
Want to know what started the whole remodel? Besides the fact that the kitchen is 30 years old and there were walls blocking sunlight, I came home from work about 2 months ago, went to get something under the sink and the cabinet doors fell right off and hurt my toe!
Do I have room for 2 house guests? Sure I do...come, I will feed you. I feed everyone who is in my house.
Cheers!
