Selling Advertisment on House
I recently formed a Limited Liability Company and intend on having a billboard constructed and attached to my house (House is in business district and is zoned commercial) and sell advertisement on it. I happen to live about 120 ft from the end of a 4 lane thoroughfare, which gets about 6,000 cars passing by at 30 mph every 36 hours. The billboard will be about 8' x 16'. I've checked local billboard company prices and I think I can sale space on it from $450 to $600 per month. Here is a photo of what it will look like.
Tell me what you think. Would you ever consider selling Advertisements on your house?

I wouldn't. Enough eye polution out there already. Can't wait for elections to be over and having all those yucky signs disappear.
Your house is cute. Ever thought about shutters & flower boxes on the front windows to go along with your billboard? They'll make that advertising POP.~*Darlene*~

Since you are in a business district I don't see anything wrong with it and if you don't mind it. I know some companies will pay you to advertise on your car, using the shrink wrap.

I wouldn't...but then again I'm 5 miles from the nearest one-lane dirt road, lol.
however if deer or elk ever get into advertising, I must admit I will have it made!
I think its a great idea though, since you already live in a business district. Its a creative way to make some extra money. Like having a renter without having to put up with loud music and all that. Smart thought.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!
I agree that dressing up the front of the house will also help bring attention to the billboard. Is the attachment permanent? Could it be placed on the side of the house so cars would be driving toward it instead of past it? Could you do both and double your advertising square footage?
As for me doing it? I would certainly give it consideration. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

I think that if you dont mind looking at it everyday it sounds like a great idea. Why not make some extra money off your house. I say go for it.

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I were in your situation! What a great source of income!

Wish I was in your position! I'd love to have extra income without having someone else living in my house. I once had friends who had a music store, and they lived in an apartment above the store. They actually built it that way, and it was a nice apartment, 1800 sq. ft., nice bright windows, etc. They said it was better than having a security system. They had a sign on the door that said "The owner lives upstairs, and he has a gun collection...fully loaded. Do you feel lucky?"
