At Home Money Ideas
Hey everyone. I should have inquired into this here a long time ago, but it's better late then never, right?
Well, as many of you probably remember I'm currently in Texas working as an unpaid intern. My internship is complete in one week, and I will be heading back exactly 1 week from today to the cold north (where we have snow for christmas! I'm soooo excited, I LOVE SNOW!!).
Anyways, since I haven't gotten paid in three months, money is a little tight. When I get home I need to make as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time. In the end of January I am traveling to Germany, and after I get back I'll be hopefully moving cross country for a job, so I will need to make enough money to pay my bills while I'm gone and have some in the bank for when I get back and moving...
I have already applied to one full time position which pays $10.00 per hour. That may not seem like much, but the position is temporary (which is perfect since I have a trip coming up) and I will only have to use just over half of what I'll make total to pay my bills - since I'm living with my parents I don't have to pay rent/groceries/etc. On top of that I'm planning on getting a part time job to work in the evenings or on weekends, to make even more money for stuff.
Added to these two things, I have joined several survey websites that pay you for surves. In just a few days time I've made close to $6.00 on inboxdollars, and hopfeully that'll continue to go well. I'm also an employee of shop'n'check.com, which is a secret shopper web site, and I plan on starting to do shops this afternoon even.
I was wondering if any of the rest of you have any ideas for ways to make money while working at home? Does anyone do anything that actually pays? I'd be interested in doing more secret shopper type things, or really anything...but all of the things I find online require you to pay money to be a member or get the list of work at home jobs...and I don't want to pay any money unless I know FOR SURE of someone who paid the money and then actually got jobs/paid for doing things at home.
Anyone have any ideas of anything I can do to make more money? I'm already planning on selling everything I can possibly sell to make cash (old bridesmaid dresses, old college text books).... I'll take any ideas!
Sorry this got so long!

Check into selling plasma -- my dil gets $25 each time she goes, and she goes twice a week.
Gift wrapping service -- go to the Dollar Store and stock up on paper, ribbons, tape. Charge so much for small gifts, medium gifts, large ones, extra large ones - and more for odd shaped gifts.
If you have time, you could make and sell fabric gift bags -- buy a few yards of Christmas material, or plain red/green/gold/silver/purple -- make various sized bags -- tack on coordinating ribbons for ties. You can applique holiday themes on them if you have time/ability.
Babysitting -- this time of year, parents want to go shopping or attend parties. Late night is prime money, as is being willing to watch a slightly ill child (low grade fever, etc.).

If you have a skill you can teach -- offer classes. After Christmas is a good time to teach things to kids -- parents are looking for something for the school aged kids to do while they work, or just to keep them occupied once the Christmas "new" has worn off.
I used to teach an aerobics class for kids that week between Christmas and New Years -- burned off some of their energy, and gained me some much needed money.
