Exclamation Bartering to help supplement your income

Has anyone thought of doing this. No money changes hands, you pay no taxes and its a great way to save money.

I've bartered a craft item for hand made soap and was able to get 6 bars of soap for an item dh had made.

I bartered my bread machine for some Christmas craft items I wanted.

    I've bartered babysitting for babysitting.

I would like to get more into this. How about you, have you thought about this or ever done it.

same here, i was thinking we could barter on the auctions. I dont' know how well it would work but besides paying the diffrence in shipping or something. worth a try though if we had more auction people.

DH has bartered for house materials when we were fixing up our house. When we had the trucking business, we used to barter dirt for windows-LOL. We even bought a van with 7 loads of topsoil and $1,000. We had that van 8 years. It didn't owe us a DIME! Bartering is great if you can work it out with someone so that you both benefit-(duh, isn't that the point of bartering- ) DH still trades stuff with people. He's rather good at it.

I've done this online before.I really like it.Kinda like the coupon trading but with actual stuff.I've bartered a rotisseri cooker for the Complete TWG,craft books, and some other things.I've bartered my little girls clothes to someone who had a little girl a year younger than dd and a son a year older than ds,so he got some jammies.I love this idea so much.Sara Sara please add it.

We should see if its ok with Sara... then maybe in the Peddler's Courtyard we could start a Bartering/Swap thread?

We could probably work something on the auction site too. I don't know.
I left a post in Behind the Scenes for Sara. We'll see what she thinks.
